Forums - PC Discussion - Arkham Knight runs like Assassin's Creed Unity on PC

Getting 50 fps w/ gameworks and 85 fps without. GTX 970 + FX 8350 here.

You can change the framerate on the .ini file.

It runs and looks better than the Witcher 3, I don't see the issue here, it's obvious it was going to be a heavy game.

Edit - playing at 1080p. And it runs slightly worse in-game than in the benchmark, but not much.

Looks like this is a widespread issue with the PC version. Hope they fix it. Its not cool when developers ignore the PC version of a game. If you make a PC version make it a good one.

The game itself though is amazing. Its probably the most fun I've had with a game so far this generation though I'm still early in the game.

The other thing of course is that 100% of the reviews on Metacritic are NOT for the PC version, which means no reviewers are forewarning potential PC buyers of technical issues.

If your main beef is 30fps, then you have nothing to complain about. Low set performance parameters is nothing compared to actual bugs, glitches and gamebreaking faults.

lol obviously you're not a pc gamer, pc is an open platform so yeah that could be my main beef and I could complain about it because rocksteady is a competent development, i think. anyway my main beef like you said is gross motion blur and gross micro stuttering at 30 fps, it's a shitty port. more information here: http://www.forbes.com/sites/jasonevangelho/2015/06/22/pc-version-of-batman-arkham-knight-is-hot-garbage-amd-and-nvidia-users-both-unhappy/

I am a PC gamer, but I eschew the PC master race BS. I am happy to play PC games on minimum setting because I think high performance gaming rigs are a waste of my money, and the excess is better spent buying a console that gives me a broader games library than an expensive gaming rig alone can provide. I absolutely hate the idea of 30fps on the one online MP game I do play (Smite) because it causes a major disadvantage in competitive play. So I recognise when 60 (or more) fps is important, but I also recognise when it is not. For a single player game like AK fps is irrelevant as long as its stable and it's at 30 or more, IMO of course. Now that you have identified other actually important issues you have a much stronger point. It was odd that in your first reply to me the only fault you mentioned was 30fps, when clearly there are more important problems than that.

yeah my bad, but it seems like they capped the framerate because they knew about the bad performance.

No problemo.

Either way, now I'm sure Gameworks deliberately takes advantage of Maxwell-only features to 'force' people to upgrade. I hope Nvidia don't do this shit again when Pascall comes around.

if you don't see the problem then that's good for you so please enjoy the game, bad for us the majority of pc gamers. My rig is fantastic so it's not a hardware problem. the stuttering is bad, really bad. I bought a ssd, maybe that will fix the problem a little bit but I don't think so.

Finally got to play.

Frame rate is goodish.  It'll run great, then it'll hit a slowdown in my experience.

I'll install the game on my new ssd and I'll try the new beta drivers to see if my experience is better.

At least the PS4 version runs fine.

Well, seems like PS4 version is the way to go. Either way, this crap that Nvidia does with Gameworks isn't going to stop me when buying a Radeon Fury if it's decently close to the 980TI.
