Sounds like a good idea to me. I love to get ahold of a few RPGs I missed on the PS1 and PS2. I also some games i want trade in.

Something tells me the trade in value will be garbage because they likely NEED to do some kind of restore on carts and such. As far as selling goes you'd probably be better off finding a friend to sell them to for middle-market price (not what you'd get on ebay but more than you'd get at GameStop); that way everybody wins.

This retro selection seems very much to be leaning buyer's market rather than seller's

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Well, the games I want to get rid are not really worth selling online because the cases are really beat up. You're probably right about selling them to a buddy versus at gamestop though. I'll have to think on it.

Batteries die in cartridges. My Chrono Trigger and DKC games were dropping saves during thePS1 era! Hope people don't buy games that won't allow them to save.

As long as they don't ask 10$ for Super Mario Bros on NES, I'm fine with it

My thoughts are "Who cares?"

I think it is a great idea, as many of us were kids when these systems were new, and now are adults with disposable income . Only thing is, that it will probably make it harder for Mom and Pop stores to stand out.

That probably goes back to the whole restoring part. If GameStop is doing restores on these, and if they want the games to sell they will have to, they'll likely check the battery saves and replace if necessary. That's right up there with cleaning the pins on the checklist of restoring.

Terrible prices. I wouldn't pay over 30 for any old Mario Party. Probably not over 25 either. Craigslist>Gamestop
