I agree, Chrono Trigger and many of the FF games before it are better. The characters in ffx were annoying and the game was linear, it wasn't bad but for me it was the beginning of the downfall for Final Fantasy. 

FF X was definitely not the best FF by far. Besides, so many games already outclass it in all those regards. Take Xenoblade for example.

FFX is the best final fantasy in my opinion, with FF VI being really close to it.But compared to other games, chrono trigger and kh is better(but not by that much)

Nope. There is no game at all that can match it, let alone RPGs.

if the character design was something like in FFVII or FFVIII, for me it would be one of the best games ever. And also if it had a different battle theme, I HATED IT!!.

For me the order is FFVII>FFVIII>FFX=FFXII>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>FFIX

I should take the time to play FFX some time. Sounds like it's a good game. Though I think it'll have a hard time competing with my list of best RPGs... x )
