He's not entirely wrong. I wouldn't say all of them though.

well the article was not found, but i can say i mostly agree with miyamoto, he created metroid, zelda , mario and much more wich are all different, and all have different art style. So he has variety. realistic looking games are ofc not bad, most of them are really good games, but it can get stale

i feel the same. also i dont see much graphics evolution scince crysis (2007!!!)

A lot of them do look identical. I prefer stylized games like "Bloodborne" or "Sunset Overdrive". "Realistic" graphics don't so a whole lot for me, and just end up toppling into uncanny valley and looking less convincing.

He does have somewhat of a point. Sure there are many exceptions but many AAA go for realism and are therefore graphically/stylistically very similar. I'm not saying it's bad to go for realism, but I would like more AAA games to go in a radically different direction.

Well, I tend to disagree with Miyamoto in a lot of things, but I totally agree with this. Games tend to look the same. I think that Nintendo provides that necessary balance between realistic/cartoonish games in major publishers.

It's like he thinks people looking like people is some huge negative to a game revolving around people. Considering they've gotten a lot of backlash for being experimental with art styles (see: every 3D Zelda after the N64), I almost see it as ironic that he even might be criticizing more realistic art styles for being too much of the same.

Gunpei Yokoi created Metroid. Miyamoto was however the big person behind the Metroid Prime trilogy. He gave Retro the Metroid license, he turned it into a first person shooter instead of a third person shooter and he thought of the idea of different scan visors. He pushed for ground breaking graphics and a smooth 60 fps.
