That is the whole point, getting a sense of where the VGC gaming community is at with this movie. The non-gaming general public will pretty much be lead by Rotten Tomatoes / Metacritic (movies) with this, and I'm not particularly interesed in that demographic's level of interest in the movie. It will be pretty well unknown that it even exists as a movie outside of gaming circles right now. If it gets good reviews people will go see it. Gamers are somewhat less swayed by general movie reviews with video game adaptations, especially franchise fans.
For the non-gaming public it is actually important for the movie to NOT be marketed as a video game tie in, because that is almost an automatic black mark in the minds of non-gamer moviegoers. The marketing campaign should take 2 approaches, one approach to gamers (on gaming webstes and forums and on PS4/Vita/PS3) that associates the game with the movie, and one approach to the general audience (TV, movie theatre previews, billboards) that does not associate the game with the movie.
