Final Fantasy

While I have to say that FF13 wasn´t that awesome (it had its share of problems) I believe that at least to me FF has (as some here put it) shown consistent quality whereas LoZs´ keeps falling.
Here´s my story of LoZ if you care :
I friggin loved OoT(10/10) but Majoras Mask(8/10) felt really rushed and overall of lower quality to me. Then came Windwaker with it´s atrocious sailing, not so fitting artstyle and proof of the series never being a modern game (This is where Zelda imo turned from Good to mediocre in my book 7/10). I didn´t bother with TP as Nintendo basically told me to go fuck myself at that point as a GC owner (didn´t buy a wii so no SS). However I still have a friend who plays every Zelda for some reason. I say "for some reason" because he usually tells me how disappointing those games are.

I vote FF. I am a sucker for narrative and that weird japanese-nime-emo-future-belt-wearing art style^^ Also I love how they change up the gameplay with every new entry.

Comparing two entirely different series seems.....odd.

Comparing Legend of Zelda to other action games: Good
Comparing Final Fantasy to other RPG series: Good
Comparing an RPG series to what is essentially an action platformer series: Not so good

I like them both relatively equally for different reasons. They both have their good and bad games, FF's more prominent simply because there are tons of FF games between mainline titles and spinoffs. If you had asked me to pick between say, FF and Dragon Quest, I could contribute to your poll. I can't be bothered to vote for such a poorly thought out comparison though.

I'd go for Zelda, a lot more consistent in quality. The early final fantasy's have not aged well and the later ones are just getting worse and worse, they had a sweet spot on snes and ps1, which hopefully they get back to that quality soon.

FF6 to FF10 are some of the best games ever made.

FF7 is the best game ever.

Im not thinking like that, im just simply curious what the communities favourite game series is, either final fantasy or Legend of zelda, its that simple

To be fair, early Zelda has aged absolutely horribly. Zelda 1 and 2 are retro fan only material, where at least FF 1, 2, and 3 have gotten modern tune ups to help newer gamers appreciate the older content. Both SNES Zelda and FF forward though have aged pretty well sans a title here or there. I can't argue with later FF endeavours, pretty much X onward, being lackluster at best and absolutely horrible at worst.

Zelda.

Hmm, hard choice. I love them both as Zelda is great and FF games are RPGs, which I love. Granted I only played 6 and 13, while I have played almost all the Zelda games, so I have to give it to Zelda. FF games seem great for the most part, so I have to visit them some day.

Definitely Zelda.

Much more consistent. Only a couple that I didn't enjoy (yuck controls in SS).


With FF they have been going downhill for years. With their best titles being from a decade or more past.
