I don't really want to be affiliated with Metroid if this is how Nintendo is treating it. I thought about having no avatar for a while, but this gets the message across better.

I can already imagine the thought process that went into Metroid Blast:

NLG: hey kensuke tanabe, did you know Samus Aran is named after a footballer called Pelé?

KT: no way?! Do you know what this means?

NLG: Metroid football?

KT: *nods* Metroid football.

Too bad even Pelé was too ashamed of visiting Nintendo's E3 press conference.

Folks...something many of us need to accept is that game design and game designers change. On the positive side of Metroid...at least it is the namesake of one of the best genres in gaming, even if the latest installments haven't been very noteworthy or engaging. Metroidvanias are aplenty this generation, including one of my favorites, Guacamelee. So if you're feeling a bit bummed about the latest Metroid announcement/non-announcement, head over to the wiiu eshop for the next best thing.
