Don't know 'bout you guys, but I'm excited :P

I don't understand why Nintendo wants to build off the plot of Hunters and Federation Force. No one played or will play these games. Fans will be confused once a real Metroid game comes out (if ever).

Hey! Some of us liked Hunters

Don't worry, we will hunt your kind down till they are extinct!

But I understand if you liked the multiplayer portion, I just don't think they should have made it a Metroid game, why not a new IP?

So since there's no Metroid WiiU inbound -- what would be most like what we'd consider a great Metroid game? Deus Ex? The Swapper? Something else?

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Fixed it for you.

Remember there are games that are not Prime (Super, Fusion, Zero Mission).

I guess I'll be the only one that didn't like Super Metroid.

I need to know why.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I assume you liked the story. And aren't referring to the total shit control scheme.

I need to know why.

1) I'm quite terrible at 2D Metroid games, the boss fights in particular.

2) I didn't like the artstyle used at all. I know it's a SNES game, but it's very ugly for me. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island has a great artsyle and still looks good today. I like the artsyle of Fusion and Zero Mission a lot better (GBA is of course 32 bit, so more powerful).

3) I found the whole world layout confusing and the underwater area was obnoxious. I know Metroid is about exploration, but Zero Mission handled it much better in my opinion. You knew the general area where you needed to head to and the rest was up to you. In Super Metroid there's nothing like that.

4) I played it on the Wii emulator... Playing such games on a big TV is no fun to me. Would have been better if I tried it on the Wii U with the gamepad to play on. The Wii mote wasn't exactly a good controller for it either. Or did I use the GC controller for it? I don't know anymore tbh.

Well that is true for every Metroid game, but Super has the worst, I hate Maridia.

Yep, hated the underwater area in Metroid Prime (it didn't last too long though, but I went there before I got the required powerups lol... Stupid curiosity.). I probably didn't like the underwater area in Prime 2 at first, but now I breeze through it and it's enjoyable (except the Alpha Blogg, I swear that boss fight isn't coded properly). I can't remember an underwater area in Prime 3 though. I don't remember any problems with Fusion or Zero Mission either.

Umm, the opposite actually. I think the control scheme is one of the best in gaming.
