Read the interview it sheds alot of light on this title. It's going to be a 3rd person action adventure.

Also Inafune, and Armature approached MS first about this game.  MS did not ask them to make them a game. They were interested in working with MS due to Armature knowing quite a few people that works for MS.

Yeah, Microsoft was also approached by Platinum Games for Scalebound as well. They knew MS was the only company who could afford the budget for such and endeavor and when it comes down it when you see MS internal abilities, they kind of need all the help they can get. When Sony's first and second party starts ramping up they will need all the help they can get. The library will need to be solid.

I have no problem with MS funding games that 3rd parties want to make because they know it's beyond their reach in terms of financial and or even developmental. Instead of buying up a bunch of Studios, and having them make all their games, and future work/content exclusive to one system.

Remember the fear that MS was going to buy Minecraft, and make it a console/ PC exclusive. They only not did that but even pushed out the Vita version. which was a game that alot of vita owners wanted.  They also are'nt trying to keep the IP's Titanfall, and Sunset Overdrive should've, could've been on the PS4. But Sony wanted the IP, and in return missed out on some great games (titanfall is good, but it's suffers from no solo campaign mode).

I honestly like all these companies, there is just too many good games spread across all these consoles to stick your flag into any camp, and ignore what everyone else brings to  the table.

It`s been in development for 14 months? Why didn`t they have any gameplay? Seems weird they just went with a cgi trailer. Would have been better if they showed in game footage along with that trailer. Odd choice for them to do.

Minecraft was coming to Sony anyway, Microsoft just decided not to cut the chord on the business transaction which was already occuring beforehand. More money in their pocket. I am not really in any camp, Its just in my nature to state what I think about the current state of gaming affairs. I play both the One and the PS4, but I find that the One is just more eventful with the larger scale games right now. As I've said before, Microsoft always splurges in the begnning of the gen and then because of a lack of IP's just sticks to what they have whereas Sony can rely on new IP's built every generation. Big difference, but I like where Microsoft is headed right now.

MS has no choice this gen. they are playing catchup, which is going to benefit the XB gamers greatly. I see the possiblity for new established IP's this gen, but it's going to take people to get out of their comfort zones, and try new experiences.

And the worst is their team is really small, less than around 30 people.

So there is 2 scenarios :

THe game is a smaller game than we think ( you can make any game look big with a great CGI, look at phantom dust or even fable legends)

Or...It's an other microsoft situation where they announced it way too early to fill their conference and artificially fill the planning before delay the game, while they know it wont make it for 2016

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

14 months and it's supposed to release in at max 12 more months? For a completely new AAA IP? That seems very low.

Who says its AAA ip in the first place?

Microsoft invested heavily in first party early last gen, but lets see how they do this gen as Scalebound and Quantum Break look great. Spencer is working wornders on the quality control

The whole team? You would happen to have a source for that would you?

If it's really that small of a team with that short of a dev cycle I think we may be looking at a Hellblade sized game here. I'll be kinda bummed if that's true.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
