I am very much looking forward to Xbox's 2015 lineup and Playstation's 2016 lineup, but.. why aren't we comparing the same year? Why not compare 2015 and 2016 lineups respectively?

If we were to do that, IMO, Xbox wins 2015 hands down and 2016 is very close. Of course, it all depends on what games actually get released. We don't know enough about a lot of these games to know how feasible it is that they will actually be released. IMO, the following games could easily be delayed into 2017:

Gears 4
ReCore
ScaleBound
Crackdown 3
Gran Turismo 7
The Last Guardian
Horizon: Zero Dawn

I could be wrong, but so far, Uncharted 4, Quantum Break, The Last Guardian, DriveClub and Bloodbourne all got delayed, some worse than others (going by memory).

EDIT: I will add however, people compare these lineups as if they are going to purchase all games for their respective platforms. If that is the case, you can afford both consoles. Just get both and enjoy both and stop trying to bash the competition ;) Both companies have some absolute crackers coming out over the next 1-2 years. Invest in both consoles and you simply can't be disappointed. It's not about Xbox vs. Playstation, it's about being a gamer and playing the best games, regardless of platform :)

I am working on something, should be up by tonight or tomorrow, but it shows that Xbox don't win 2015, despite what everybody says. They only have like 9-10 fully, console and timed exclusives coming in 2015, while Playstation have around 50.

And honestly, things needs to be put into perspective. I feel like people are seeing the Gears logo and say "Oh shit, a new Gear!", but it is ONLY a fucking remaster of the FIRST game, it doesn't even include 2 and 3.

Rare Replay, why? didn't they just announce BC?

Forza Motorsport 6 will be the 3rd Forza game to come out in 22 months. A Forza game every 7th month. Milking anyone?

Now, Fable legends, I know quite a few people who was huge fans of the previous titles, but because its a free-to-play game, they simply don't want to jump in. There are also a lot of other things, art style and what not .. Personally I think it looks beautiful.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, well, it is coming to PS4 later next year.

Halo 5: Guardians is totally legit though :)

People are being tricked into thinking this is a "great" line-up, maybe by first glance I would understand it, but really? Remaster, A collection of REALLY old games, a franchise that is being milked harder than Assassin's Creed at the moment, A F2P title, a timed exclusive and then finally a legit game :D

Phil saying this is the best line-up is just sad, because they can -AND will do so much better in 2016.

PS4. always suits my preferences better.

Woah, a somewhat bitter post mate, calm down lol. Firstly, numbers don't tell everything. I am fully aware that Sony has much more games coming out than MS, but numbers don't interest me. My personal tastes lead me to prefer Xbox's 2015 lineup over Playstation's. Nobody can tell me I am wrong, I just prefer Xbox's 10ish games to Playstation's 50ish (just pulling numbers out of thin air here) because the games themselves are what I am after.

Some other points, Gears Ultimate isn't just a 1080p upgrade, they have rebuilt the game including graphical, sound and animation assets. They have also added new story missons and added a lot of MP content, see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPSnk7vaCVI

Forza coming out every year? Nope, Horizon and Motorsport are completely different games made by different studios, they just share similar assets. It's like saying FIFA and NBA are the same game because they both share the same motion engine.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is not comfirmed to be coming to PS4 next year, people are just speculating. People said the same about Mass Effect and it took many years to come to Playstation. They also said the same about Titanfall but it's not even on the horizon for PS4.

Rare Replay... This can't work with BC because half of those games never existed on Xbox 360?

Fable Legends, personal taste but as it is F2P it doesn't interest me much.

People aren't being 'tricked' into anything. There are legitamite reasons why people are looking forward to both lineups, just because you don't think it's the best lineup doesn't make you right. Gaming is a form of art and entertainment. It is stupid to claim a particular peice of Art or a Movie is 'the best', because it's personal choice and tastes. Equally, anyone that says 'This lineup is the best', its just rediculous. It's purely opinion. My opinion leads me to prefer Xbox's 2015 lineup and to be at odds with 2016. I am fully aware of PS4's lineup, it isn't being hidden from me. There have been numerous posts comparing numbers. Numbers aren't everything - I would take 1 Star Wars movie over a 1000 Transformer movies :)

Yeah, you're right. Sorry. :)

I think it's pointless to compare 2016 lineups as nobody knows if any of the games are going to be good except for uncharted and SFV imo.

Recore - Looks interesting, seen nothing
Crackdown - Seen nothing
Horizon - Looks good, need to see more
TLG - Looks ok, need to see more
Gears - Looks ok, need to see more
GT7 - seen nothing, probably 2017
Quantum break - looks meh, need to see more
Scalebound - seen nothing, although this one will most likely be good
R&C - Looks ok, need to see more

As for 2015 it depends who you are I guess, it would be nice if all of the big games come spread out over the year instead of all of them dumped into a short time frame. 2015 a win for Microsoft, but it wouldn't matter to me either way as I won't have enough money to buy many of the games that come out around then as my insurance is up on 1st Nov.

And you base your list on the full range of games relasing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_One_games? And you cannot look at a an XBox list an exclude PC, since that is a major platform for XBox since several years back.

Ever since MS released W8, XBox has become their gaming platform on PC, Home console and Touch devices. For example, if a game releases on X1 and PC, I would absolutely count it as an exclusive if it is under the XBox brand, since it is not available on a Sony device. I would also go as far as to say that Shemue 3, if release only on PC and PS4, is a Sony exclusive even if Sony aren´t the ones actually behind the game.
