October 27th guys, think about it, it's the day Halo 5 releases and they are having a conference, really no better way to rain on MS' parade that day than with a pricecut.

Tgs. So they don't put the announcements and effectiveness to far apart for Holiday and don't shoot their foot like dekinect 1 month gap that bombed sales.

Pretty much this. In their shoes i'd drop it there and by 100 bucks. Temporary holiday bundle with COD+SW BF for 300..no wait, that's too much, they wouldn't even be able to keep up with demand. Maybe 2 skus, COD+MGS and SW+Nathan Drake, or something like that.

It's selling like hotcakes, why would they lower the price?
Next year sounds more plausible to me.

because they want to sell MOAR!  And would still make a profit at $350 by now methinks.  The more market share they can get the better as that's 10 games (on average) and PS+ stuff for those systems.

They will announce a $50 pricecut just in time for the holidays so probably at the end of October. Or a smarter thing to do is give the PS4 a pricecut the same day Halo 5 releases.

I don't see them doing an actual pricecut until next year. The ps4 is doing great as it is and sony needs all the profits it can get. However I can see them doing some special hollyday deals with timed pricecuts and bundle deals in the US aka what microsoft did with the xbox last year. Just to stay ahead on marketshare in the US.

Maybe Ps4 will don't have a price cut this year Sony said they want to focus on profit more then install base and ps4 sales still good

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Of course I get what you mean, but could they sell more enough to offset the price reduction?

As a customer I surely welcome a price drop, but I just can't see Sony making one just this year. But then I have no clue of economics and I might be totally off. :P

They are doing their next big conference at Paris Games Week, it'll be announced then, which is in October so for November and therefore Christmas. It will be an official pricecut, lowered to £300, 300EUR. You can get it for less than this now though.

Where? Seriously if you know where I can get a PS4 for less than 300Euro (or at 300) then tell me. I´ll make a fortune reselling those.
