The sad thing is SE may have killed a good thing. The reboot was warmly welcomed, mostly on PS consoles. Going XB exclusive may have netted SE some extra cash upfront, but it looks like it may hurt things in the long run.

First of all, they are trying to sell on a console that gave them fewer sales for the first one, which already means fewer on XB are interested in the game. Second, they are going up against a crowded holiday season, which means they will most likely be one of the games to be overshadowed on release. And third, even though the game is most likely going to be launching on the PS4 eventually, I don't think that many PS4 owners will care as much. I think some will feel betrayed, since they supported the franchise more than the other fanbase. This shows them that their loyalty/money meant nothing to SE. Of course, the biggest reason will be that if the exclusivity is only for ~6 months, ROTR will be releasing within a month or so of UC4, a game PS4 owners are much more hyped about.

If sales are really disappointing, I can see this being the last we see of Lara for awhile.

Sony is no better with SF4 and FF7. Makes what Microsoft did pales in comparison by far. Then again...all three franchises are known for selling better on Playstation.

Around the Network

Uncharted getting delayed was the best thing to happen, now devs will think twice before taking ms money, they may get all the money from ms from lost sales, but you harm the ip when it flops on the lower selling console. Xbox is struggling around the world. Most of the sales will have to come from us and uk. And since its launching on fallouts release welp...

Ya, but like you even said it makes sense for Sony to get games like SF4 and FF VII. They were already going to attach better on the console (sales are a given due to install base). That said recently franchise asscociated with XBox more have been selling better on PS4 (Witcher, Dragon Age, etc, and those games even had MS marketing).

I feel like that chunk of the 360 fanbase that move over to the PS4 were the WRPG crowd. FPS games still attach better to the XB1. (CoD: AW 6.5 mil on PS4, 4.4 on XB1, Battlefield 4 2.6 mil on PS4, 1.7 mil on XB1).   Really makes me thing the crowd sticking with the XB1 are the core XB fans (Halo) and the fans who prefer other genres are moving back to Sony this gen.

add me, the more the merrier.

Depends if they release it on PS4 before the end of january it's not all that bad, but releasing among these behemoths isn't going to bode well.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

makes me wonder why we were not talking about this before.

Maybe the Fallout 4 announcement is what really made what was a decent release stragety a poor one. TR between COD and Battlefront, ok counter programming. Its like when ESPN shows poker during the superbowl. Fallout however targets a similiar demographic and is just a much bigger deal in general.
