Ah, I completely misunderstood then. I'm glad we're in agreement that FF looks like boiled feces.

Yeah, it looks like stir-fried ass.

I don't think the game looks that bad in motion. It obviously takes a more cel-shaded style than Hunters though. Plus it is much clearer at the 240p resolution than hunters is at the 160p.

I take it then that you haven't played a shooter with the Wiimote yet, or even Splatoon. Both are far superior to dual analogue

Amen.

I struggle to play dual analogue shooters these days, compared to pointer controls they feel so obsolete and clunky.

Dual analogues were created as an unhappy medium, and I'm pleased to say we no longer need them. Now I just wait for The Industry to realize that.

I've done both. Splatoons gyro controls are bad, and Wiimotes are, not only worse, but, not universal or urganomic. Mouse and keyboard aren't universal, either. The industry hasn't realized that because it isn't true. Dual analog works because it's the best current way to play shooters on a controller that can play almost every other genre in the best current way in the most comfortable and convenient way. Neither the Wiimote nor mouse and keyboard do that, and gyro aiming is just plain bad.

^ Looks decent aesthetically, but the 3DS is capable of much, much better textures and shading.

Suffice it to say we have radically different opinions on this then. Guess time will tell which of our preferences takes over.

The galactic federation aren't supposed to have ambience. They are military soldiers. There's no ambience in that.

Well, there's actually a social ambience in that aspect alone, but it's not worth it to discuss it.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Clearly mine when it comes to Metroid Prime going by FF and clearly mine when it comes to the industry as a whole since Wiimote controls are dead, there is only one successful shooter so far with gyro aiming where as the Wiimote died with many more, and mouse and keyboard controls haven't taken over yet even though they've existed longer than the first analog stick has.

I'm with you guys on this. Playing games like unreal tournament and quake on PC with a mouse + keyboard has spoiled me with its accuracy. The stylus controls on the DS were the best after that, and the Wiimote is the next best thing after both of those, and dual-analog never synced with me. Even slower paced shooters like Half-Life 2 didn't feel that good with dual-analogue.

I think most of us were wanting/expecting to get an actual Metroid game before getting a spin off-  now we are getting a spin off but no Metroid game for the Wii u at all

Metroid is my favorite gaming franchise. Super Metroid is the only video game I would give a 10/10. I knew after Other M's backlash that Nintendo would put the series on the backburner while they brainstorm about how they can refresh it. In my opinion that is alright. Having a spinoff doesn't change anything. Whether or not the spinoff exists a mainline Metroid or Prime series Metroid would likely not. I'm glad though that they are considering to revisit the franchise on the NX, and just like they revolutionized Metroid with the Prime game after having a hiatus during the N64, I have high hopes that they will revolutionize it again when the NX comes out. Who knows, maybe Nintendo will release  Metroid Prime HD before Wii U is done for, and that would suit the Metroid need until the new game releases. If they correlated scans to the gamepad, upgraded the graphics, and allowed for Wiimote controls, I'd buy these games for the third time.

The producer for the Prime series said it best-  basically he said they had ideas, would like to do another Prime game BUT a 3D Metroid would cost alot to produce and take a long time to develop- also the resources were not available to hi to procede-   Nintendo did little to give the Wii U a reasonable chance to succeed-  they rcvd the reults they put in-  so the Wii U and all of us who own a Wii U will be shorted a great deal of content that precedent says one can expect to become available on a Nintendo console-   but not this generation-  Other than Smash and MK8  they really did not spend the resources to bring the games that would have given the Wii u a chance and tht would have made most Wii U owners feel like the were not being played -
