Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony looking for more titles to crowdfund

I don't like it. For a big company like Sony, $2m is not much so asking people to donate money makes them look cheap. I hope they don't do it for other games.

I could never see them doing it for any 1st party game ever anyway. Sony doesn't own the IP, and it isn't Sony's project, so they won't have full control over this, but they can step in with extra funding to get it PS4/PC exclusive, which looks like what they have done.

PlayStation All-Stars 2 and I'll pay 50% of it.... okay, maybe not, but damn sure I'm going to pay at least 80$.

Same here!

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

I don't see the problem, even when you consider what SONY did as "extortion".

We are being extorted by almost every publisher out there at this point. And yes, that includes Nintendo. Fuck it!

Do the japanese know about this kickstarter?
There is a japanese shenmue iii website that directs to the kickstarter site, but the kickstarter is only in english.
That will be an obstruction for some or many to donate.

They also have it in Japanese, fyi. You just have to be able to read Japanese in order to know where to click.

You know Sony, there are other ways to gauge interest than Kickstarter.

So you missed the part where he said Yu and Sega had worked out a deal to kickstart it, prior to any Sony involvement, I'm guessing?

But no others let diehard fans through money at the screen harder than Kickstarter!

I mean, if you can get a customer to pay $10,000 fo for your game, wouldn't you let them do it?

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

This isn't akin to Kick Starting something like "Last of Us 2".

This is a dead series that was a cult classic and we heard no news for a decade. No company was backing this project and Sony figured out a way to play it safe and give people what they've been begging for 14 years to have. I never thought it would happen, so not really bothered by the details of how it finally came to be.
