Yeah, but Sony has effectively killed it off. The last game was hardly anything to write home about. Genji was also never as good or as successful as Onimusha. Microsoft should fund Otogi from From Software as well, get their own Onimusha.

This is all good until one of these reboots turns out to be horrible, then this will ruin this practice. Very skeptical about this....n

Kickstarter has changed quite a bit from its inception lol, but that isnt Sony's fault. It does irk me how big corporation get involved in grass roots tool like this and saturate it. Off topic though.

Animal Crossing?

PlayStation All-Stars 2 and I'll pay 50% of it.... okay, maybe not, but damn sure I'm going to pay at least 80$.

If you watch the interview with Adam Boyes, he was more or less saying this was the fastest way.  Regardless, budgets still have to be okay, and it looks like Sony's higher ups are being more tight with money.  So the fastest way to get the budget okayed was through kickstarter.  He said it would take a long time to go through focus tests and stuff to prove there's a market for this title. Especially a title who's predecessor was released 14 years ago.  I'm also guessing this was Suzuki's way of putting his share into the game since I'm sure Sega isn't.

Good to see Sony admit it was just a marketing move.

But that doesn't actually gauge interest. This gives the hardcore fans who want the game to actively put their money where their mouth is.
