Nintendo is a rollercoaster ride. That's the best I can explain them.

One moment they have one of the best ever E3's (last year) and the next, just when you think they have got it, the worst E3 since 2008 this year.

That blows me away too! They had the content to have a great E3 digital event, just chose to focus on small 3DS titles. Where was Fast Racing Neo? Where was the localized trailer of Xenoblade X, where was the Fatal Frame localized story trailer? Where was The Devil's Third?

This is extremely strange. Even speaking of games for 2015 they had a lot more to show for both WiiU/3DS, and they didn't do it... Just like they start trolling the industry/fans. Just for luls.

one failed console does not spell the end of one of the industry’s most successful businesses. Nintendo can learn from the mistakes of the Wii U they can get back in the game  again.

They can, but will they? That's the question. They keep making the same mistakes over and over again.

not with iwata in charge. he NEEDS to go. people can quote me on this. as long as iwata is in charge, every home console for Nintendo will be a failure, and their handheld business will continue to slowly decline in sales.

iwata is 3 for 4. i don't see why he should have to go. but whoever thought it was a good idea to sell underpowered hardware with a giant controller...

Of course it's not over. I just hope they won't rely just on gimmicks but on hardware power next time they release a console. It has to be at least on par with PS4, which should not be such a big problem, when you take into account that it will be released at least 3 years after PS4 and Xbox One.

They should have noticed now that it is not easy to run a console without the third parties. It's hard when you don't get the new editions od COD, Battlefield, Fifa, NBA 2K, GTA, Need for Speed (speaking of racing games: why the hell the Wii U gamepad does not have analog triggers), Assassins Creed, Witcher, Madden, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, ....

Speaking of this E3, it's hard to believe they wanted to focus on games released within the next months. Nobody does that, even nintendo didn't do so in the past. It makes no sense. It's obvious they are holding games back for the NX.

Nintendo has never had 2 failed consoles in a row. (N64 was not a failure, just did not meet expectations).

If the NX fails that would be a 1st and it would create decade span of failure. I think that would cause them to rethink their place in the home console biz.

add me, the more the merrier.

Of course, they already announced NX and when they talked about architecture of NX they mentioned futures consoles too.
And yes, I think they learn from they Wii U mistakes, let face it, Wii U after Virtual Boy is biggest miss for Nintendo and they will surely take some lessons from it.

I know, it boggles the mind that they had FAST Racing Neo, Fatal Frame, and the improved Devil's Third on hand, but chose to omit them from the Digital Event and show garbage like Amiibo Crossing, Metroid Soccer, and Mario Sports game #4165 instead. Morons.

Oh it's definitely not game over for Nintendo. Apart from E3, everything else this year so far has been extremely positive for Nintendo. I think the problem with Wii U is Nintendo tried to do the same as what they did with Wii and failed and they know they can't just do the same thing again and from what we know about the NX so far, it proves they won't the same mistake. Saying that, it doesn't mean they can make new mistakes, but I think Iwata knows what he's doing. One E3 mess up isn't going to just completely fuck them over.

it seems like the theme of puppets won't be good when it would present Fatal Frame since it is a mature game? maybe.... just guessing. it was shown in the treehouse which is good.  really weird absentee is Devil's Third but EU and Japan has a release date.  and why Yoshi was pushed to October where EU and Japan would get it early. i don't get these release date, why EU which i believe have english language, can't have a near release date in NoA.

Maybe don't use the puppets then if they somehow preclude you showing M-rated games in your Digital Event? Just a thought.

As for Yoshi, my theory is that it's the Amiibo holding it back in NA. They have enough to service the smaller PAL and Japanese markets, but not enough for NA, so the latter gets delayed while they produce more.
