It's also annoying as fuck that instead of looking in the mirror, realizing how out of touch they are, and addressing this, they just keep spamming Mario games and increasingly abusive Amiibo tactics.

My greatest advice to you is ... judge Nintendo for their present actions, not their future actions. I.E. wait to see how the next console turns out before making that decision.

Although I have made my criticisms of splatoon and smash bros dlc in the past, I do acknowledge Nintendo as a good publisher. Unfortunately even the best of the best will make wrong decisions from time to time.

Honestly, their problem stems back to when they made the hardware for the wii u. Bethesda openly revealed how it was Nintendo making Nintendo hardware mainly for Nintendo games, despite the many many concerns from 3rd party publishers. It is now that we are seeing the full effects of that decision. IMO as long as Nintendo realises this and makes a console for developers and not just Nintendo games (common architecture, sufficient power, special features), they should be fine. They can even release it alongside a gimmick, as long as they  realize that they need to prioritze the basic essentials of the console.

tldr : Sony went from last to first in one generation, Nintendo may do the same if they finally get their act together.

People buy consoles for the games that will eventually be on it/them. When a console doesn't live up to expectations by making the games they originally wanted it for, this is bound to happen. Perhaps, you'll find reasons to get another nintendo console later on. Hopefully you do or at the very least find some other console to play games on that you enjoy.

The way they threw their well known IPs under the bus this gen really rubs me the wrong way, no proper metriod, it's best they had just let starfox be a great memory, Super mario 3d world is a 4 player 3ds game, Tropical freeze could is just there, and now I now it strongly looks like zelda is being delayed for thier next console.

Unless nintendo really reallly really delivers on their next console in every single  way possible, and from the looks of how they are going it seems highly unlikey, I see no point in buying something from them next gen. I am somebody that absolutley hated the gamecube but i always had believed that it could get better, this is the lowest my faith in nintendo has ever been ever in delivering games that I want to play.

it's amazing to think that had they not included a controller that even they didn't know how to use, they could have won just by underpricing the other two guys. that said, there's been far bigger screw-ups in the history of video games. sega abandoned the SCD, 32X, Saturn, AND Dreamcast for greener pastures, one after the other.

I said the same thing when the WiiU was announced. A few years later, WiiU is my favorite console of all time, I don't know how I'll be able to go back to consoles that don't have off-tv play. I am glad I do have a big WiiU backlog because I don't think I'll get NX at launch..... [unless they have a killer launch lineup]
