My 360 RROD on me so It's definitely pretty big for me

Now a way to transfer my saves... pls MS

You need to put your Xbox 360 saves on the cloud if you want to use them on X1.

fuckkk idk how I will do that. If I can get my 360 somehow up and running so I can upload my Alan Wake, Saints Row IV, and Tales of Vesperia saves to the cloud xD

Wow talk about a lot of people trying hard to convince anyone that a nice feature not available on their console is as bad as it can get... this is fanboyism at it's lowest.

MS knew that it had to stop the defection of 360 owners jumping to PS4. How do you convince people to stay with you? Make sure they can play their last gen games and new gen games on one machine. If I have a 360 and I'm looking at a new gen machine b/c makes me look seriously at Xb one especially when I can get a very good trade in deal. I can get a cheap Xb one because I can now trade in my 360, AND get to keep playing my 360 games. Also if I have a PS4 and a 360 then I can seriously consider getting that second 8th gen console earlier than I might have.

The one problem is that this isn't true b/c, therefore you are not guaranteed to be able to play all of your 360 games. But still if you like the mainstream Xbox franchises you will be pretty safe.

It was a smart move to shore up the base, but it's not going to attract new customers.

It's a nice feature that can't really be bad in any way unless it makes your console catch fire or explode. I'd like B/C on PS4 just because there are a shitton of PS3 games I haven't even played never mind finished, and I don't want to have to deal with the shitty PS3 OS anymore and the DS4 is ofc the best controller ever. Not the second coming of jesus but it's a feature i'm jelly of all things considered. It's probably going to be better than PS Now, which I will most likely use, but it all depends on how many games are going to be playable on both consoles

What? BC is awesome! Imagine if the PS4 could play PS3 games. That would be dang sweet. Remasters wouldn't seem so necessary for people who missed games from the previous generation if you can just take those PS3 games and play them on the PS4.

Actually this breaths new life into the 360 library. It's a good way for publishers to make a few extra bucks from their already made software or make it more enticing for selling their newer games. Some companies are already using it to sell their future games by offering their older games for free. So, this announcement is a big deal. It's consumer friendly and devs can gain from it too. It's not the concept of BC that is being questioned here, it is the way that it is being used.

PS3 with BC didn't sell because the console cost way too freaking much. The day that they announced they were removing BC, I ran out to buy one before I couldn't get one anymore. Believe me, everyone would have loved for BC to remain.

People just end up accepting what their Gods do, even if it's not exactly what they want, in the end. Why, because of loyalty. Some Gods take away and it's ok to their people. Some Gods give and it's loved by their followers, but talked bad about by their rivals to make it look like not such a good thing. Who loses? The ones that fill their hearts with envy and hate, when someone else gains something good.

Bold #1 - Companies have already been doing this.  Only they are giving away actual remasters for cheap or free.  Or they are games from the same franchise from earlier in the same gen.

Bold #2 - And the Wii U, which had B/C with last gen's winner, and wasn't incredbly expensive?  In either example, it doesn't matter.  Nice feature, but nowhere near the main selling point.  And those were almost full B/C, not the limited kind MS is doing.

And you shouldn't really worship your console like that.

Companies doing remakes need to spend much more money to do that. This is the start of a new gen, so obviously there are not that many games to give away for free on the Bone or PS4. Devs benefit in this situation.

There are more benefits to having BC for 360 games than Nintendo or pre-after Achievements got successful PlayStation games. That main benefit is Achievements. People still have a lot to gain replay wise and Achievement wise from them. Giving people a way to access those libraries and also allowing Xbone features, like snapping, blah blah to work while playing them. Blah  Blah blah blah blah..

You are right, my undying love for Sony is just too overwhelming sometimes.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

yeah too late.

Was just posting this on another thread, but I spent the whole day playing Viva Piñata 2 while snapped to TV/music. Works flawlessly. All the features work just as they would playing a One game. Just stuck the disc in, and presto - downloaded/installed. (and the nice thing is the game, like a lot of 360 games, is like 5GB so it is quick and easy.)

Had a lot of fun revisiting a favorite game that was collecting dust since I disconnected my 360. (Only enough ports for PS4 and X1 in my setup.)

So I can verify it works great. I agree with a lot above that it's not really a game-changer, but it's a really nice value add in my case. I'm a collector - I don't sell games back or whatever, so I have, oh 120 or 360 retail games and a mother 50-60 digital games. The fact that'll be able to go back and easily revisit a large number of them without hassle or fuss was a really welcome surprise for me.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

I don't know why it's always about winning but for some people it seems to be the only interest.
Well, to me bc *is* a big thing. I have a lot of 360 games and still a huge backlog on this system. Also I didn't enter next-gen by now. So if I "now" (soon) enter next-gen with a bone, I am able to play a lot of these games on a new system, without the need of having the old console still. It is especially not only bc, it's the whole system in a new system. Party chat, online gaming, everything is exactly the same as on 360.

So reality check - to me, it's a BIG plus.

Second, to publishers not allowing this: Why not? They can sell you games on a new console without the need of doing *anything* besides allow the game to be played on the bone. There are still sales for 360 games going, a lot. So instead of investing in an hd remaster they don't have to put money on a game anymore and still generate sales with these games. That's what happened also to other consoles, like PSOne Classics or the virtual consoles on Nintendo consoles. Not to mention that even if you already own the games for Sony's and Nintendo's emulation, you have to buy the game again.

So reality check - it will bring money to publishers, this will be a pro for them.
