Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is MS' Heart Just Not Into It This Gen?

I'd wager that they really don't need to. After all, they want to keep Windows gaming very much relevant and even Sony is helping Microsoft in this regard.

After all, if you include the Windows Store, XBOX is on Windows.

You can't argue that the CoD deals has sold plenty of Xboxes til now, regardless of which platforms the game sells the most on.

Probably, but it must have not been worth it for Microsoft to ink a new exclusivity deal. It'll sell well regardless of which platform gets content first.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

What exactly do 3rd party deals have to do with MS' heart not being in it though?

More like their wallet isn't in it.

In terms of giving gamers what they want, I feel they're more in it than ever.

Their budget was to develop Xbox 360 emulation on Xbox one i guess. or maybe ported all 100 Xbox 360 games to Xbox One system and claim it's backward compatibility .

They start with 100 games and will add more over time. I'm not sure why such a huge feature is being down played...but whatever floats your boat man.

Like I can understand getting "beat" by Sony. It happens, they had a good start. OK.

But how as Microsoft do you allow things like virtually every major *Western* IP to debut/have exclusive content on the PS4 or premiere on the Sony stage?

I mean OK, Batman, I can see. Assassin's Creed ok. Hitman alright. But Star Wars Battlefront too? Bungie's Destiny again? Call of Duty? Again ... Call ... Of ... Duty, a game that's been associated with the XBox brand for almost 10 years.

MS is a much bigger corporation than Sony with much deeper pockets, what gives with this? I get the feeling they're just not that into this console business thing, don't get me wrong, they like it and they want to win, but really they're not going to break their backs trying to compete it seems.

This is a hobby for MS who has bigger fish to fry elsewhere, that's just the feeling I get and now with Steve Ballmer long gone from MS (really the cheif guy who pushed for MS to make hardware), if MS really considered XBox a big priority I'd have to think they'd be trying harder than this.

I'm starting to wonder if there is going to be another XBox console if they get routed this generation.

you're only now getting this feeling?
