"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Microsoft gave their best E3 conference ever, but Sony was just operating on a whole other level.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

From the average game consumer point of view, I actually think MS handily "won" between them. Shenmue 3 will not make any splash commercially what so ever, but it is a great fan service. Same goes for FFVII. As far as fan service goes, I would still tip it to MS since they enabled 100 games this fall for 360 fans to play on X1. But them again, I am highly subjective :).

Shenmue 3 is over halfway to its goal of $2 million in less than 3 hours. It's safe to say it will be popular.

And you call into question the FF7? It is literally the most requested remake ever. EVER.

Oh c'mon, the only thing they're missing to be a legendary showcase would be Half-life 3 exclusive to PS4/PC

From a sales prospective... Microsoft actually probably won it.

I dunno. Shenmue 3 is already halfway to its starting goal of 2 million dollars in only a couple of hours.

It's safe to say Shenmue 3 wasn't the biggest thing in Sony's bag. 1m dollars looks impressive, until you realize that only 13k people have backed it. It's probably the game I'm most excited to see from their conference though.

Who are we talking about here, Sony or MS? I thought MS had a good show, but Sony`s was also very good.

This is the worst sony conference ever for me, simply because I have very little interest in any of the big suprise games . Why is a remake of an old game a big deal? I'm so lost.

And they didn't even announce that other game. They announced a kickstarter campaign. That has to be the most shameful thing I've ever seen. If the game is such a big deal why didn't sony just fund it?

Only the last guardian has me intrigued, but I never played the spiritual predecessors so I'm not really sure if it would even be my cup of tea.

If you have to ask why a Final Fantasy 7 Remake is important, then I think you're on the wrong website.

And I'm sure Sony has made a hefty donation to the Shenmue 3 project. Which, by the way, it's over halfway to its goal in under three hours.

After announcing the shenmue kickstarter I thought the sony exec was going to pull out a check for the full amount and hand it over like a boss. What's a couple million to Sony? The fact that they didn't do that is honestly kind of embarassing. How can you announce a game that hasn't even been funded yet? Thats just silly and the worst type of fan service (pandering).

I didn't like the fact that sony only seemed interested in appealing to one subset of gamers. Only one of those big games is even exclusive. MS had more exclusives and announced more game changing initiatives. All sony did was pander to japanophiles.

Sony killed it, what with FFVII, TLG, Horizon, Shenmue 3. That was like an E3 at the height of the PS1 or PS2 eras. And they didn't even show Persona 5, although I guess Atlus themselves will do that.

The only thing MS had that interested me was the BC, and frankly, the only 360 games I have any desire to replay are Tales of Vesperia, Lost Odyssey, and Blue Dragon.

LO is the only reason I would ever get a 360.

Forza 6 is still the game I'm the most hyped about so MS won in my book. Plus backwards compatibility could be huge depending on what titles they add. Alan Wake needs to be in the first 100 compatible games and hopefully they add Lost Odyssey eventually.
