C'mon, guys, if Sony had announced improved backwards compatibility for PS4, you'd be raving about it. Microsoft had a fantastic showing.

... Sony just happened to curb stomp it with a better showing.

From a sales prospective... Microsoft actually probably won it.

I dunno. Shenmue 3 is already halfway to its starting goal of 2 million dollars in only a couple of hours. 

This is the worst sony conference ever for me, simply because I have very little interest in any of the big suprise games . Why is a remake of an old game a big deal? I'm so lost.

And they didn't even announce that other game. They announced a kickstarter campaign. That has to be the most shameful thing I've ever seen. If the game is such a big deal why didn't sony just fund it?

Only the last guardian has me intrigued, but I never played the spiritual predecessors so I'm not really sure if it would even be my cup of tea.

Totally this. I had a PS2 that played PS1 games, I used it for PS1 games once. Once I got my PS3 I never once went back to play my PS2. Same with my PS4.

If MS had backwards compatibility from day 1 it would have helped them gain more marketshare as those with an X360 would have been more enticed. Almost 2 years later though... It is too late. Nice addition but overated.

Yep, my thoughts were like yours. At first I thought MS would win, or be 2nd, and Sony would last in 3rd place... but their conference was trully fun, surprising and special!

From the average game consumer point of view, I actually think MS handily "won" between them. Shenmue 3 will not make any splash commercially what so ever, but it is a great fan service. Same goes for FFVII. As far as fan service goes, I would still tip it to MS since they enabled 100 games this fall for 360 fans to play on X1. But them again, I am highly subjective :).

MS was good, its just that sony did it better. At least both sony and MS should be better than nintendo.

If you have to ask why a Final Fantasy 7 Remake is important, then I think you're on the wrong website. 

And I'm sure Sony has made a hefty donation to the Shenmue 3 project. Which, by the way, it's over halfway to its goal in under three hours.
