This site is filled with Sony fans. Show me any poll that is essentially Xbox vs Sony in which MS wins. These Xbox vs Sony polls are ridiculous on this site and have no meaning because of the Sony bias.

Actually, this site is filled with nintendo fans who are the most neutral in these type of discussions. I'm sure you won't acknowledge it though.

would that matter if there where any type of fans outthere? Where sony to win by showing nothing then yea, theres something wierd. But they won because the show more stuff and arguably better stuff and best yet, show stuff that people liked more.

Like everyon keeps saying, everyone liked MS pressconferense, but thought sonys was better. I have only seen the MS fans say that sony showed nothing or that snys was bad or tired of remakes or n true exclusives. So to me it sounds just like bitterness than actually thinking that MS had something better. Aside from Backward compatability, nothing to me at least stud out. Just stuff we knew was coming and more cgi trailers. Sony for me won by showing Horizon wich looks phenominal and is a new IP.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

From a sales prospective... Microsoft actually probably won it.

In terms of leveling the field out, it was a good day for Microsoft. Sony had a great showing (better the M$ in my opinion) but, as was stated earlier, they were already the frontrunner. Microsoft's strong show did more for the image of the XBO than Sony's show did for the PS4. Things will be interesting in the US this fall.

STAGE you should really play TR Anniversary. It came out right before Uncharted and would really open your eyes as to how much TR actually owes or "stole" from Uncharted. Saying it wouldn't be where it is without Uncharted is really just flat out wrong, no other way to slice it really.

Anyway as I don't care about Shenmue 3 or a FF7 remake, Sony's conference was good but nothing spectacular for me. I'm bummed that they didn't announce any good new software/OS features for PS4. MS is showing a new UI with Cortana, which should be just about the most amazing console OS element ever, plus BC, plus early access. To me that's almost as good as most of the games shown, but then they also had great Gears 4 stuff, and Halo 5. Also Cuphead. Among others. Uncharted and Horizon looked great for Sony.

I am not talking about TR Anniversary. I am talking about the reboot, dude.  Uncharted mostly took platforming, puzzles and tropes from Tomb Raider, but its core mechanics came from Killswitch, RE4 and winback just like Gears of War. The reason Uncharted was created was because of Gears of War.

http://venturebeat.com/2015/01/11/10-years-later-resident-evil-4-is-still-influences-the-industry/

RE4 is mostly credited with influence on Uncharted and Gears than any other game as far as cinematics and core gameplay are concerned. It was the third person shooter prototype before last gen. Killswitch also provided inspiration and in Uncharteds and Gears cover and blindfire. When you look at Tomb Raider today its essentially Uncharted with elements from other games.

Except the core mechanic changes in the reboot were also present in Anniversary, which again, preceded Uncharted. So what you mean to say is Tomb Raider and Uncharted both borrowed a lot from other games, including RE4 :)

MS still had a good showing. They showed gameplay of their upcoming games. Announcing BC was cool. It was a safe and dignified conference.

It's just Sony was out to make dreams come true yesterday.

MS had a great conference, probably the best I can remember in years. I thought that this year they really had E3 in the bag after that showing. It would be difficult for the competition to match that conference.

Then Sony took me on a ride. And man was it one crazy ride. It is a ride I'll never forget. That is all.

Sonys conference>>>

Microsofts actual game line up>>>

Sony did something completely different this E3 than ever before, they made their conference a complete gaming conference and not a Press Conference.

Every year, we get good things from E3, but they always feel like a Corporate Shareholders meeting. This year, no sales numbers, no adoption rates, nothing like that (except for the slight mention of Spotify). It was games, game announcements, Vue and Morpheous. Have to say I like the new format that Sony has gone with.

This year the MS conference felt like the Sony conferences of old (and in someways vice versa).  The MS conference to felt to me more like a "Go Back to the PC" than a "Keep investing in the Xbox One".

Now they just need to get some better announcers....

To the items:

How do people who think BC is soooo important completely ignore remakes?  Old games are old games, some just have a new set of paint.  If BC was so important, how did the original PS3 with BC not overtake the world?  I still have the original PS3 60gig and I think I have played 5 total PS2 games in it (had it since launch.  Persona 3, Persona 4, Suikoden 3-5).  I love remakes done right (The Gears Remakes?  UC Remakes? FFVII Remakes?  Good stuff)

Games:  Really, games are subjective between the two conferences.  They both brought the games and made them the focus.  Good stuff.

Tech:  Did anyone else get the feeling that MS was focusing on the PC with Tech especially?  Controller...PC.  Hololens...PC (and really I can think of a ton of awesome uses for it outside of gaming), the Oculus Rift Partnership...PC.  Sony was looking at their PS4 and at their future as a Company with tech (so was MS).

Well I really liked MS conference, but wouldn't give them a win because Sony games attract me a lot more.

But Hunt mechasaurs and the myths were unbeatable. Will Agent and HL3 comes at gamescon? So much finnancing may be the reason for worst margin prediction on Sony budget announcements.

People downplaying it are just having the posture I had with MS show, bias and preferences make you mostly not caring for the other side bombshells.

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Sony is just a few steps ahead of Microsoft. And credit goes to Microsoft for giving it their all and going for the kill shot... but Sony was already ready. Its like Sony has been resurrected as an unbeatable chess master. They delivered a great show.

Sony brought down GAF. The Last Guardian megaton quickly became a FF7 gigaton. Then Sony summoned the Shamue tetraton (an auto victory). They were 3 half lives away from obliterating the internet. They could have killed us all.

Microsoft left people in shock. Sony left people in tears. I think if you look at Microsoft's lineup it was there best ever. Therefore Sony played there best hand ever, The Forbidden Fantasy Lineup of Never Ending Dreams.

So Microsoft set itself up when they said they had the best lineup in history. They should have keep quiet and caught Sony off guard.

Backwards compatibility is a great feature, any way you slice it.  I even said I'd pay $100 more for a PS4 or XB1 with BC built in over a year ago.  I can find the post.

Why was it such a big deal when PS2 had it?  Why were people raging when it was no longer in the PS3?  As for the last, the PS3 was $500-$600 back in 2006.  Maybe that's why it didn't catch fire.....  I know that not everybody cares but for those that do, it's an amazing feature.  Their most requested according to the feedback program (which I'm a part of).
