It works really well and its like 1000x faster than on the PS3.  Okay, I'm happy :)

yup, its been amazing.  super fast.

very fast indeed.  i was disappointed when i digitized my dvds a few years ago and tried to play it on ps3.  it played well enough once i got to my file but it took forever to find a movie to play.

i was  happy to find i could just plug that same harddrive into my ps4 and get super fast access to it.  i'm very happy about that.

How do people get movies on their PC or USB?

Torrent

So, the whole reason people wanted this media player was to watch their pirated movies on the TV?

i went with the recommndation of dvdfab and handbrake.

worked pretty good.  there were about a dozen movies i couldn't get to work out of 400.  i was a bit lossed on the quality settings so my rips were a bit hit or miss.  over a month.

yeah, it wasn't terrible.  some of my dvds are christmas/holiday stuff and those really only have like 45 minutes of content on them so those were quick.  basically for a month-ish i put netflix on my tv while ripping 10ish discs a night.  ..a bit more on weekends.

Yes it can. But the instructions are annoying how to setup. You gotta put music in a music folder on the card or HDD. But videos can be in a generic unnamed folder. But both requre the files to be IN a folder. Basically they didn't incorporate the PS3's show all function.
