Forums - Nintendo Discussion - "More Big third-party partnerships"?

We all know that he meant Sony will be developing 3rd party games for Nintendo. Yeah, that must be it.

In other words, don't expect much. Maybe for the NX if they decide to fix their policies and how they embrace 3rd Party (ie. now have the idea that 3rd pasrties need to come to them) then maybe we can start expecting some. But as for now, I can't see more than Capcom, Sega, and possibly Ubisoft and Ubisoft is a big "if" at the moment

Of course this means Half-Life 3 is going to be 3DS exclusive. It's all 3, believe! :P

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

So I guess by "partnerships" they really meant "partnership" (as in singular not plural).

And by "big" they meant "we let the Skylanders folkes use a fugly version of Donkey Kong".

So the boss of Nintendo Canada recently said:

"We still have those great, big third-party partners like Ubisoft who continue to invest in our platforms. In the next few weeks at E3 you’ll be hearing about more big third-party partnerships."

And then

"You’ll hear in a few weeks about some interesting partnerships. We’ve already over the past year opened up and aggressively sought licensing deals in lots of different areas. In the video game space you’ve seen Nintendo characters appear in other game worlds. It’s also happening outside the game world, with the Universal Studios partnership that will bring Nintendo to fans and families through theme parks."

Assuming that at least some of these are explicitly cases of Nintendo shelling out money to get games of various sorts on the Wii U (and/or 3DS), what games might we be about to see? Who will Nintendo have partnered with? What games are about to get Nintendo characters appearing in them that we don't already know about?

Aside from the claim that Ubisoft "continue to invest in our platforms", which either means he's counting the two or three games that are being put on every platform under the sun, he means that stupid unreleased-but-complete party game, or there's going to be some Ubisoft titles announced for Nintendo platforms in the next couple of days, we also have the theoretical potential for other titles.

If we assume that he's not exaggerating, that there really are some notable third-party partnerships set up, some notable games set to be announced/released for Wii U and 3DS... what could they be?

Some theoretical possibilities that would cause meltdowns if they happened (I don't think any of these would actually happen)...

1. Half-Life 3.

2. Beyond Good & Evil 2.

3. Tekken X Street Fighter.

4. Timesplitters 4.

5. Starcraft: Ghost.

6. Call of Duty action-adventure game by Sledgehammer Games.

7. Shenmue 3/Online.

Keep in mind, the above is just there to get people thinking about what the reactions would be if such titles were revealed during the E3 Direct. It's fun to speculate.

Donkey Kong in Skylanders. It's almost like Shenmue 3.

This made me both laugh and look sadly at my wii u at the same time. I didn't even know that was possible.

Probably best to wait until the end of E3 before declaring anything like that.

Devil's Third was revealed at E3 2014, but outside of their Digital Event. Nintendo has a habit of announcing some stuff later in E3. Perhaps that's where the other partnerships are set to be announced. I don't know.

Don't get me wrong. I was quite disappointed with their Digital Event. But I don't make the call until the time is right to do so.
