Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Nintendo make a Smash Bros TCG game like Hearthstone for mobile?

Activision-Blizzard's Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft is a successful TCG for Mobile and PC devices.

Hearthstone is a popular and successful game for PC and mobile devices and fans of the game seem to enjoy it as well. It [and Destiny] has also nearly generated one billion US dollars for the company and has a userbase of 30 million since it release in 2014. Should Nintendo take note of this and make a Smash Bro trading card game as one of their first Mobile game with DeNA? The Smash Bros characters are definitely more popular and recognizable than Warcraft characters!

Nintendo also has experience with trading cards with the Pokemon TCG so this shouldn't be a new territory for them. In fact, they used to be a trading card company in the late 19th century and made Hafunda cards.

So should a Smash Bros TCG game be one of Nintendo's first mobile games?

Super Smash Bros. Melee Battle Cards!

They seem to have made one for Melee! Imagine having Smash Bros Amiibo booster packs too! The profits off this game could be enormous!

Either that or digitalize Fire Emblem TCG.

That's not a bad idea. Seeing I like smash and hearthstone mixing them together would work wonders. And who knows something like that may be one of the things they have coming.

I like that idea. I say YES.

(just make sure unlike heartstone it works on my galaxy s3 pls)

Yup. That's millions of dollars sitting there.. Then again, this is Nintendo... They always leave money sitting there.

Digital collectible card games are pretty popular on mobile, seems like a good idea to me.

Oh that would be a good one too. They should use the artist who made the Awakening cards!

That Tharja card

Considering Nintendo's history with cards, as well as that Fire Emblem TCG, this doesn't seem like a bad idea at all.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I don't know how it would work. But, if there's money to be made Nintendo will do it, and I will buy the shot out of it.

That would be pretty smart, imo. They have so many powerful IPs they could do this for, and Smash Bros. just makes sense.
