Forums - PC Discussion - Rockstar Continues to screw over PC Gamers....

Not sure if anyone noticed this yet or have posted a thread already about it but if you look on steam you will see gta5 on "sale" for..... $60. I didnt understand this at frist but a recent readdit seems to be right on the money.

Rockstar has removed GTAV from the Steam store and replaced it with bundles as the only way to purchase it, as a means to still get full price while 'participating' in the Steam sale.

"Sucks for anyone hoping to get GTAV on PC. I have a hard time justifying the fact they made us wait two years to buy a two year old game and still expected full price in addition to microtransactions in the first place.

Then going 'on sale' by including in-game money for GTAO and their least-popular 11-year-old GTA game and STILL pushing people to pay a $60USD price tag is ludicrous.

Edit: Re-added to the store as a standalone title some time after this post was made, listed at $84.97 with 30% off, making it $59.89. Still price gouging, still shitty."

really does suck ive been waiting for months for the summer sale just for this game... :P probably not missing too much. this is lower then activision with call of duty

edit: and from armedgamer.com, they noted that "At the beginning of the sale, GTA V was priced at $30, down from the usual price of $59.99. Sadly, there wasn’t a lot of time to enjoy the moment –  just minutes after the sale began, the page was updated and the deal had vanished, revealing that the game’s price had been dramatically hiked up to $80.00"

Yeah that seems really shitty.

Yeah, I noticed that in the Steam Sale.

Kinda dumb if you ask me. :/

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

All's fair in love and war - dirty yes but kinda funny

i mean i guess they could have just not allowed it be on sale

Well a lot of PC gamers arent buying games at full price and wait for a steam summer sale so i understand Rockstars motivation for doing such a thing, a little bit.

I clicked on this thread ready to defend the right of a business to make money but--yeah, that's pretty disrespectful. The listed "bundles" are just plain silly and I don't give a rat's ass about those cash cards.

well considering how well it sold during its release and even afterwards [ http://www.vg247.com/2015/04/14/gta-5-pc-steam-charts-dota-2-counter-strike-global-offensive/ ] toping the steam chartz,  this is a great way to show support for a community wow was already forced to wait 2 years for a port

As far as we've been able to tell Steam has been bugged all day since the sale started, with four or five different versions of GTA V going up over the course of the day. It keeps alternating from what I've seen between $30 base game and $60 base game+shark cards+San Andreas. Both are pretty good deals unless people are gonna be entitled about it.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Just watch people try to defend them when this is the god damn Steam sale where prices are meant to go down by a lot, watch them defend a certain flash sale on another platform for being able to do it on there but not on Steam, I swear someone on here is going to pull that excuse from out of nowhere.

R* being the jews that they are is no surprise, even after what they did with GTA IV they have the gall to pull this.
