Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Scalebound and Crackdown to skip E3 for Gamescom 2015

This is why E3 is so bollocks these days, they announced these games last year and there still not on the horizon for this year or probably even next.

So who cares how jam packed there E3 shows are, it will just be CGI trailers for games we wont see again for 2-3 years.

Some games do get announcements that take 2 or 3 games to be released.

Also Sunset Overdrive was revealed in 2013 and it was released one year later.

Proud to be a Californian.

I'd be really disappointed if Sony doesn't show off at least a couple new VR games.

yeah im the opposite, i dont want any VR to be shown at all, but i know its not going to be the case

Even I was skeptical on VR and treated it as gimmicky. But after trying Oculus DK2, I was blown away. You just need to try it once, granted you dont get motionsickness or have vertigo. I am with fusion code, the only selling point that Morpheus has over the other VR is its world wide studios support. and i want to see what kind of games sony has.

I swear to God.....

Not too long ago there was a thread talking about how E3 is all about making new announcements and that Microsoft's show would be lame if all they did was show gameplay for a bunch of games already announced. Now we have a thread where everybody is complaining that some of the announced games are being moved to a showcase elsewhere to make room for other things at E3. Make up your damn minds

I think you misunderstood the problem. It's that 2016 games were revealed too early and should have been left for this E3 instead. What are they gonna do, announce 2017 games? Is that going to be their yearly E3 plan, always? Cause why would they remove 2016 games to announce 2017 games..?

This E3 could have ended like this: after showing the games coming in holiday 2015 (both exclusives and the usual third party promotions), "have a look at some of what's coming in 2016" and you'd see the first announcements of both Scalebound and Crackdown, with gameplay footage. The 2015 games would have gotten their highlight while still fitting in new announcements. Sounds like a better E3 than last year and most likely better than what this one is going to be like.

You mean like how Driveclub and The Order were announced in 2013 and didn't drop till 2 years later? Par for the course in the gaming industry these days. Almost every game is announced far in advance of their actual release.

Driveclub wasn't released 2 years later. It was announced in 2013 as a 2013 title and came out in 2014. Direct comparison would place Scalebound and Crackdown as being released this year, 2015.

In 2014 they announced LBP3, Bloodborne and R&C. R&C is the only one that was announced too early, it's clear they're at least trying to avoid this problem after 2013.

Halo, Gears,Forza, unannounced games and it's E3 they won't skip it just because of 3 games that won't be there.

Welp, they lost my interest that's for sure, also, they might as well skip it if what they're going to show are games that'll sell millions regardless of having little to no coverage. Let's just hope that those unannounced games are worth checking out.

I'm now filled with determination.

Yes and LBP3 was released 4 months after announcement. But for every 1 game at E3 press conference thats like this there are 4-5 that are CGI videos of games that more than likely have barely started development.

I wanted to see Scalebound. :/

Driveclub was released one year later. Also, no need to defend MS for this. Its a bad practice for anyone who does it.

These are titles already announced. I am all for showing them at Gamecon and allowing more time for announcements about future titles.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

hey good for gamescom
