Forums - Movies & TV - Sir Christopher Lee Passes Away at 93

Sir Christopher Lee, screen legend, passed away at 93 on Sunday.

Lee broke out in the 1950s and 1960s in gothic horror movies produced by Hammer Films, playing famous movie monsters like Dracula and Frankenstein's monster. He would go on to star as Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man (1973) and Francisco Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). He is perhaps most famous in the United States for his villainous roles in The Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, in which he played Saruman and Count Dooku, respectively. In total, Lee appeared in over 250 movies.

"I've appeared in so many films that were ahead of their time - some of them were very good," Lee told the BBC News website in 2001. "Some weren't."

Lee was knighted for services to drama and charity in 2009. He also received the BAFTA Fellowship in 2011 and received the BFI Fellowship in 2013.

Rest in peace, Sir Christopher.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
