And by marketting they mean paying review sites to score that undesersving 10/10.

Higher budget doesnt equal better optimisation and polished product, witcher 3 is rushed. A higher budget wouldnt tell them to not realese the game that ealier to fix it first. CDproject doesnt deserve any money at all imo, just recentley they released a ps4 patch which is decreasing the perforamnce and causes more bugs.

All these complaints about bugs makes me feel as if I played a different game entirely. 3 hard crashes over 96 hours of play. No bugs or optimization problems to speak of. I have nothing bad to say about the PC port, and the most vocal complaints are all from the console ports. I'm really impressed that what was once an indie game/franchise has reached AAA status.

It proves it can be done at least. A small dev who had to license an old engine for the first title and now they're rolling in money for the third iteration.

While there is no question they've made high quality product, I think GOG has a lot to do with that - they said themselves a lot of money from there went into funding Witcher. Not sure they would be able to pull this off on their own without that.

It boggles my mind how much is spent on marketing these days.  More money is used on advertisiment than for making the product.

And people complain nintendo isnt advertising heavily, is it really a suprise? advertising has become much more expensive aswell.

I'm playing the ps4 version and have clocked over 30 hours and still no big bug or crash.  I have encountered some framerate issues especially in combat but outside of that nothing.  I'm gonna start looking for those bugs because I still don't understand most of the complains

It seems some people have it much worse than others, real horror stories out there.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Like most games give it 6 months the bugs will be properly sorted out and the game much cheaper. Seems like a company that knows what it's doing with regard product and marketing. I do think they have lost a lot of sales though by not offering a first person gameplay mode. They will need to go this route for future versions especially with VR technology becoming more common.

So hopefully CDPR is getting at least $60 million of that ~240 million revenue. Marketing will be a cost on the publisher so CDPR's break even is only $32M. So it's great to be in good profit less than a month after launch.

They are the publisher...

Publisher is Namco Bandai according to VGChartz, and Metacritic says Warner Bros. is the publisher (USA maybe?), my local game retailer websites show the Namco Bandai logo on the cover. Is there some official information confirming CDPR is the publisher?

Namco and Warner are just distributers.

As Holodust says, the rest are distributors for different territories. Publishing duties are handled by CDPR.
