As not being a hardcore nintendo fan im not very familiar with its games, (Wii is my first ninty console, apart from a gameboy once had like 10 years ago).

I want some games like wiisports and wiiplay, or atleast something that offers somewhat similar gameplay experience. Any thoughts are welcome as i am really comfused on what to buy.

People on this site well tell you to get Zack and Wiki but I don't think you will like it.

Wii Sports game came bundled in with your Wii console? They bundle it in with every Wii console sold world wide.
Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, Zack and Wiki are some good titles.

 Although those are good games for YOU and most of us on the website, from what the OP said, he wouldnt be interested in most of these.  

 Audiomatic, if you are looking for simple mini-game titles for the Wii, there are a few games out.  Carnival Games has been a popular one, I think Mario Galaxy would be a fun one, Zack and Wiki is a series of fun puzzle games that get exponentially harder, Mercury Meltdown Revolution is fun, Geometry Wars is also a good game.  I urge you to check out the games I've mentioned.  Watch gameplay videos, rent some maybe.  All the games I've mention require very little dedication and are easy to just pick up and play. 

 They do not bundle WiiSports in every console Worldwide.

If you're looking for casual multiplayer games like Sports and Play, I'd suggest Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games or Rayman Raving Rabbids.

If you're looking to branch out into other genres, loadedstatement's suggestions are good.

I'd suggest Rayman Raving Rabbids. Very fun game.
