Have you ever be in this situation:

You are winning in a fighting game and you try to finish your opponent with a fancy move but your special misses. Then you find out that you spend your meter in an unnecessary attack and your opponent finishes you with solid gameplay just because you forgot the basics?

Well, that is pretty much what Microsoft did. After all what the 360 accomplished they had everything in their favor to win this gen, but somebody at some point had to say "Why dont we try a new move"

That's quite far from the truth. Microsoft most certainly did not have everything in their favoru to win this gen.

Last generation Sony had a disastrous launch, high price, difficult console to develop for, launched much later tham xb360 and still managed to sell as much as xb360. Not only that but a large number of sales were due to the huge success of the kinect, which faced a fate similar to wii's motion controls. People were all over it and then stop giving a damn.

Ms was bound to lose this gen. The only difference was by how much exactly.

The bitterness towards Sony is insane. Like they kicked some peoples puppy or something the way people go off about them.

Whys it have to be bitterness or something equally silly? So many posts like this, whats the point of the thread?

Maybe some of us simply dont see anything special Sony has done this gen aside from taking advantage of the other twos mistakes? Nothing bitter about that.

It is beyond silly because it ignores the importance of brand power.

And you can look at past sales to see that Sony didn't need the other two to fail for the ps4 to do better than them.

It doesnt ignore anything. And you can look at past sales to see what a silly notion brand power is in this market :)

Honestly, feel free to call it whatever you want. Sony could win the next 10 generations and people would still come up with excuses why the other companies didn't come close.

How many people have you met that are willing to admit that they're bitter? There's always an excuse and denial. Sure some of them simply have a different opinion, but all of them? I find it highly unlikely. For whatever reason no one wants to admit they're wrong. It's always someone else's fault.

As for me, I don't think everyone's is bitter, but I'm sure plenty of people are and would rather lie to others and perhaps to themselves about it.

You're grossly underestimating or just downplaying brand power. If devs mention that they are making a new COD, GTA, halo, TLOU, elder scrolls, fallout, super mario, zelda without any footage being shown or any info beyond the name of the game, alot of people will buy those games no questions asked because of the brand/logo. It's no different with consoles, handhelds (nintendo) or smartphones (apple).

WIth consoles, playstation has the strongest brand power and that is one of the biggest reasons why It sells more than the competition. It's name carries more weight in the console market. With it's brand power, playstation consoles only needs to have a good launch to win a generation. The same can't be said for the others. History will show that. The PS1 and PS2 had good launches. They dominated their gens.

They did everything right...

Hardware, games, publishers, marketing deals, dev supports, SDKs, etc... etc... etc.

It is the best machine by a long way this generation.

Xbox one: Better exclusives on 2014, more better exclusives on 2015, shares the 95% of Ps4 games. It only has like a 15% less of performance in multiplatforms, Is cheaper.

WiiU: Best exclusives of the generation.

Ps4: eh... 1080P, Best console ever.

Actually I think the Xbox has like 60% of the titles as ps4. Most of your statements are factually wrong lol

Nintendo fans should know aboubt brand power more than anyone else. It's the entire reason the third party market abandoned them. They were so focused on throwing money at first party exclusives regardless of quality and third parties got fed up with the lack of support.

It hasn't beat the 3DS, which is a console.

No, no it's not. It's a platform, not a console. It does not meet the requirements to be considered a console. It is a hand held gaming device.
