Because sony always has

Tell that to Ps3, PsP and PSV

Playstation has lead 3 generations on homeconsoles. Nintendo has lead.... 3 generations on homeconsoles and every generation of handhelds (5?), let´s not act like Sony is some kind of mighty king when even sony fans says that PS4 is only winning because the other 2 fucked it up.

Nintendo is in the gaming business since the 3th generation.
Sony is in the gaming business since the the 5th generation.

Sony won 3 generations against Nintendo.
Nintendo won 1 generation against Sony.

All 4 Playstation consoles sold (PS3 / PS4 will sell) 90M+.
Nintedo only has 1 console from 6 consoles which sold 90M+.

Nintendo fucked up this generation? What about Gamecube and N64 generation? Did they fucked up there too? Wii U sales are typcial Nintendo sales. Nintendo never was better than Sony (except Wii though I still can see PS3 outselling Wii)!
The only thing where Nintendo is better than Sony is the handheld market. And even if there are better in the handheld market, the first Sony handheld outsold all Nintendo home consoles except Wii.

Playstation always was/is/will be the gaming market leader!

Good marketing, launched at right price, MS messed up consoles reveal, Ninty launched at wrong time priced to high, good games, good variety of games, popular first party IPs and a good reputation for 1st party development.

Not saying that Sony have the best games or the best 1st party developers on their consoles because that's subjective. But they have both games and developers of high standard, mix in the other points above and you get the success they have right now.

ps4 at $399 = right price but Wii U at $299 = priced too high.

I wonder what causes so much stupidity like this.

Because the PS4 got out the door first, was cheaper, and didn't have the massive wave of negative publicity that the Xbox One had pre-release thanks to knucklehead executives. It's a slightly more powerful console, but I think that has less to do with it.

By the time the Xbox One was unbundled and cheaper the damage was already done.

That's for the US at least, I think the Playstation has always been a little more popular in Europe and Japan has always ignored the Microsoft consoles.

Because we are looking for the best of the best of the best ! https://youtu.be/OXRi28W-ENY?t=53

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

value judgement.

If  you go A) is a consol, and B) is a consol, but B is cheaper, why is it priced to high.

You can use the same logic with OUYA... its 99$ and a consol as well... obviously its the Wii U and PS4 that are just priced too high?

Honestly the Wii U should be more than 50$ cheaper than the Xbox One (and soon ps4 when its price cut).

Demand shows it too, in terms of sales. Its not selling as much as it could be, partly because of price.

Good reveal, good marketing and good product converge together to make it such a huge success.

I know I'm the minority here but PS4 has the best exclusives so far this gen and I say that as an owner of PS4, XB1 and Wii U.

If only Sony have done more with keeping Monster Hunter series in their handhelds. Seriosly, Vita is perfect console for MH (with dual analogs). Obviously it was cheaper and easier to make MH game on 3DS, but imagin how good could MH4 look with better graphics on PS VIta.

Homeconsoles? Wii success is still mystery for me. Sony is doing great job from their launch in homeconsoles both with exclusive games and marketing.

Tbh for most of people in some countries consoles= PlayStation.

Better image from launch, better marketing, btter brand recoginition, better worldwide aproach, better games, better hardware, better cost benefity, more variety in library, more games, etc.

The question should be: Why wouldn't it?

from my perspective, the ps4 is their less appealing console, compared to the ps1, 2 and 3.

In what sense?

Sony has secured themselves as the safe choice.

Great marketing, but also a long and hard battle fought through the PS3 era, to keep players on board.

It's lovely to see how many people think it has to be the others screwing rather than Sony merit.
I mean, Sony never did a good thing, it can't be it...
It's not like it ever won a gen before, it got lucky.

I wonder why the company that came to a two sided market dependant on Japan and US, with it's first system opened it to the most of the world and made Europe such a relevant market, that was able to be the first to break the 100M barrier, which hadn't happened before even with all systems combined with it's first system, that was able to not only be relevant while being the underdog but also turn into the king in the same gen, that led us to over 50% boost in it past record from the last gen, with the still most successful and acclaimed system ever (!even in this Nintendo dominated forums), that was able to recover from an one year headstart with a start as bad as possible in the next gen and be competitive and end it with such a high note, that now delivered the most powerful and user friendly system from the get go, now rightly priced and focused on gaming as it core, how can it be winning? It obviously is because of the others screwing up, because you know, why not?

How is it not clear it's just the strongest brand, with the most merits and the best product this gen?

The truth hurts many people here and you can be sure that they don't have a good reply to give to your post.
