I don't understand why MS would need to redesign the controller. Unless they are doing away with external battery pack and going with the internal rechargeable battery. That's about the only think that would seem to be a reason to redesign the controller.

Because the headphone jack on the PS4 controller has proven to be popular.

What, the new ps4 consoles generate less energy? Why have I been plugging my ps4 in, it generates its own power, awesome.

One electron pushes another electron to produce electricity. The use of a certain type of energy can convert into another type. Such as wind into electricity, water into electricity and in this case, electricity into heat. Therefore you need to use energy to create energy. We are also not creating power here through the use of electricity, we are simply dissipating that power used into heat energy. So in the end, the newer designs will create less energy. You still need to get power through electricity to create that energy, by plugging your PS4 in, it's not free. Electricity is silly like that.

Of course you already knew that and was just trying to be funny, but this was probably the only chance I would have ever had to explain electricity and how it's created.

Indeed. Such an addition should revitalize in game chat for many online communities. In addition, this also means that companies like Turtle Beach don't have to spend many additional resources just to cater to one console.

I'm gonna get a 2tb probably in a few months. My hdd is already full from when i got it at launch. I deleted the games i don't play or best too. I saw a 2tb hdd with a trainer kit on Amazon for like $139 or something but if you just want the hdd you can get it for $100 or so

True, but generally waste heat is not regareded as generating energy. But you can indeed use it to for example boil water at sufficiently high altitude. You can't really use it to drive a steam engine as trapping the vapor would raise the boiling point, yet you can make a primitive water still to purify water. Ergo ps4 is an essential survival tool while mountain climbing. Don't forget your extension cord!
