I'm so glad everyone is mad and outraged by Sansas wedding night!  My wedding nightg was totally great and I REALLY wanted it!!!

Well actually a lot of people didn't like that scene at all, and in the books even though Dany was very nervious and reluctant she actually gives consent, so perhaps not free and happy and willing consent, but she does give consent. So yeah, another example of the show brutalising a character in a way that was not so in the books, and of course how thre is a magical turn around to her being in love with Drogo after she gets lessons from a whore.

Stannis does intend to do a couple of morally questionable burnings in the book, but never of a direct legitimate relative, without cause. The show has been assassinating Stannis' character from the start, but burning his own daughter was merely the most egregious step they took to finally kill off any semblance of sympathy  anyone might have for show Stannis. TV show-wise Stannis' character is irredeemable unless the burning of Shirren was a ruse, which is probably isn't. And I will be very pissed at the show writers if Davos sticks with Stannis. Davos should, for lack of any better claimant to the throne, give himself the the Night's Watch, or if he can get to Mereen throw in with Dany, though I can't see why Dany would accept into her service the person who was the saviour of Storm's End during the overthrow of the Targaryen reign.

In the books we've seen Stannis burn people close to him (Maester Cressen) and favor burning children (Edric Storm).  Essentially you're arguing that the show has made Stannis 'unlikable' (he's not exactly a loveable guy in the books) because they've stripped away his hypocrisy.  He's a genuine believer that he is the true King and the only thing standing between the Others and the destruction of the world, and thus he'll do anything to succeed.  In the book, he follows his principles and claims to be fair only so far as it suits him.

It's not character assassination.  Burning Shireen is absolutely true to his character as presented, and screaming "character assassination!" is basically on the level of some shipper getting mad at a showrunner because their preferred couple didn't end up together.  You're too attached to an aspect of a story to look at the story as a whole.

Dude! Cressen dies by poison at his own hand when trying to murder Melissandre, heck the same exact scene is played oiut in the show. How do you not know this?

The latest episode wasn't all that good.

I probably won't watch the next season either.

First, the spoilers. I was fully prepared to see things this season that would be TWOW material, like the battle for Winterfell. However, killing off ser Barristan early and excluding lade Stoneheart and the Young Griff are big spoilers for me. Especially the last one, he's a contender for the iron throne! He has the support of the Golden Colpany, Dorne (most likely since Dany rejected Quentyn and he can marry Arianne), Varys and Illyrio (probably). Yet the show simply excluded him so we know he won't win.

Second, there are some things that I feel drag the show down. 2 examples:

- The battle of the wall in the previous season. Major characters like Jon kill minor characters with a single struck, yet they have a hard fight against the other leaders in the battle.
- Jon and the wildlings leaves Hardhome by boat, but instead of going sounth and docking at Eastwatch by sea south of the wall, they decide to get off the boats somewhere north of the wall so they can enter castle black on foot. The writers simply did this to create a 'dramatic' scene between Jon and ser Alliser. Quite amateuristic for such a big show imo
