Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon is not only $60 in the United States

Splatoon is both $60 and $50. Unfortunately, Gamestop and Amazon (along with a couple others) are selling the game at $60. However, I have seen other stores such as Fred Meyers selling it at $50.

I kinda wish I didn't get it from Gamestop now. I mean it was worth the $60, but obvioulsy I would have preferred to get it at a lower price.

Fred and Meyers could be the only chain selling it for that price though and it could be a limited deal they're promoting.

I see Splatoon selling for $59.99 in bigger chains like Target and Walmart that are more nationwide than Fred and Meyers as well.

Good for those who live near a Fred and Meyers though

I'll keep that in mind when shopping for the game. Thanks!

You keep mentioning this "Fred Meyers" but I've never heard of it.

Seems like a good deal though. Reminds me when a local Costco was selling Smash 3DS around launch day for $5 less, I believe.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Fred Meyer is stores are only in Oregon, Washington State, Idaho and Alaska never heard of them before either.  But I'm pretty sure that most people living outside of Texas never heard of HEB either.

i have it at $63 tax including for a pre-ordered game at amazon. :(

I dont think its worth $60 as it lacks content and efforts needed to develop this game is not a AAA standard. Any AA or Indie related team can do this game so it should be priced around $30-40 most not AAA game price.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.
