Changed my diet a bit and also increased my workout as well.

Previously I was doing

-15 to 20 minutes of cardio on my treadmill
-2 plates of salad (one in the morning and one in the evening) along with either 2 bananas or 1 banana and a apple during midday.

For some reason my weight increased a little bit - not sure why but now after changing up a bit in the last two weeks - its gone down again. Its weird because I'm technically eating less and working out but its normal now I guess o.O.

Now I'm doing....

-25 to 30 minutes of cardio on my treadmill (thanks to me watching anime via my iPhone/crunchy roll app - dat damn dedication and motivation yo)
-30 burpees
-15 squats
-One teaspoon of pure honey when waking up
-One Protein bar, one banana and a glass of milk  (Around 10am or whenever my lunch is)
-1 plate of salad with banana curry in the evening

I've also noticed my clothes have become much more looser now than in previous months so looks like there's progress.

To be honest - 200 lbs is my goal but I want to do strength training as well and from what I heard that increases weight which is fine with me as long as I get thinner ;p.

My diet is gonna change dramatically again in a few weeks. On top of that - the environment as well so...its gonna play a factor in me losing weight just like I did few months ago when I lost 30 pounds.

Woot! *high five*

Changes in diet and environment can definitely help

No you don't necessarily gain weight from strength training. It all depends on your program and your diet. As long as you are expending more calories than you are eating, you will lose weight. If the opposite is true, you will gain weight (which will be mostly muscle if you are strength training with the right program).

Banana curry sounds weird asf though idk about that

Ahh good to hear :O!

When I get a new house later this year - I'm gonna be building a room dedicated for working out with equipment, weights, etc. I used to do strength training heavily when I was in high school and at my college gym. Time to get back to that routine again.

Also banana curry isnt what you think it is :p

I'm probably more than likely 99% chance using the wrong terminology XD.

I would say its more plaintain curry - not sure how to translate it from Malayalam to English....but its something like this except with less oil, no spices, no salt and no coconut whatsoever

This

I'll take a picture when I eat tonight :p

Its really good and I'm missing eating meat XD cause with this and chicken curry or beef curry - its soooooooooo GOOD ^__^

Hmmm looks interesting. I might have to try making that soon!

Well I had to take a few weeks off from lifting weights due to:
a) a wrist injury
b) a huge spike in school workload
However today I was able to go back and kick start my routine again. It was funny really; as soon as I walked through the door of the fitness center all of the front desk staff said "your're back!" haha. It feels good to be back that's for sure. Although I did hit my funny bone with a dumb bell about 20 minutes in (don't ask)

Wait a minute! There's actually a "funny bone"? I always thought it was just an expression for having a sense of humour?

Well yes and no. When somebody hits their "funny bone" they are actually hitting the exposed Ulnar Nerve that runs through the inside part of your elbow joint. So it's not actually a bone per se but it is a label for a legitimate piece of your body

After getting the Spring Break blues I was demotivated and quit for 10 days.

Luckily I am back and quickly did 50 sit-ups consecutively. Before I could only muster 10! Still going to stick with 100 a day with 100 consecutively and easily as the goal.

Push-ups are another story with me still unable to do them properly. 20 if I am lucky. Will most likely swim this summer as well, but we shall see.

Hi

Never did sport before, hated it.

2k15 was very rough for me at work, ended up almost in a burnout. Doctor at work warned me about my weight (95kg) and told me I was in bad shape.

So I pushed the door of a gym club, and almost turned back on my heels since I felt the pressure of dozen of eyes pinpointing on me. Anyway one of the coach took me and showed me the club.

Bought a pair of basket, came back the day after, started some training under the surveillance of my coach. A few days later she gave me a program to stick to. This was in end January.

Now, I'm very happy to perform a 15mn session on the rower (my first attempt after three minutes was me out of breath, spitting my lungs out ^^).

Keep at it! All progress is good progress - remember that. I fully believe that you can do it

Hello and welcome aboard!

The thing about the gym is that everybody who goes are equals. Everybody is there to work hard and improve themselves and that is something to take pride in.

I'm glad to hear you are doing so well. Keep at it and get even better! It's an amazing feeling and everyone is capable of it

Thanks for your topic, I found a lot of nice advice. However, I can't understand some specific words related to gym here, my vocabulary lacks in this specific field ^^ I'll find a way to describe the program given by my coach !
