Forums - Sales Discussion - Project Cars sold 1 million globally.

Was going to pick it up for PC, until I heard they cancelled the Wii U version.

I don't want to be a party pooper but is 1M good enough for a game that's been development for what seems like ever?

What's the development costs for this game? What does it need to sell to make profit?

Will it have Gran Turismo legs?

Edit: Just read it cost $5M to make? is this true? If so then amazing game for such a small budget.

I'll be honest, I thought the game was doomed when it was delayed to 2015. This is probably the 1st surprise hit of the year. Grats to SMS for their success.

They dont really deserve it the way they betrayed their WiiU backers

No. It was not that the budget of the game... $5m is just the kickstart funding... the devs have more cash to made the game... I don't remember the right value but kickstart + dev budget was ~$30m if I'm not wrong.

I find it funny how SMS is honestly telling how they are having trouble with the hardware that Nintendo designed, and suddenly fans think they are being betrayed by SMS.

I can only imagine the countless number of hours that went into making project cars, and SMS definitely deserves every bit of the money they make, regardless of whatever platform project cars is on.

Wiki - "Project CARS, which stands for Community Assisted Racing Simulator, is a low budget game, being made for a total sum of $5 million"

Is that correct, or just a case of wiki getting it wrong?

$5 million is what they got from 85k players.

The dev had money/budget from themselves too.

Good numbers! Really unfortunate it didn't make it to the Wii U

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Great news, the team was really passionate about the game and it deserves to be a success! I just finished the Witcher so I can finally start playing it. *fires up game in Steam*

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine
