Yeah sadly 2013 will be the peak year but it's great to see the success of Splatoon and the Wii U growing over last year.  Also splatoon hit 800k retail today in Japan alone!

If NX doesn't get released in 2016 Wii U might still peak that year. It will definitly do better in Winter and Spring than it did this year, where the console just lost too much this year compared to 2013 to catch on. That's not going to happen in 2016 with the higher baseline it has since Splatoon and the games coming in early next year (Star Fox Zero, Pokkén Tournament, Twilight Princess HD, Mario and Sonic Rio Olympics) will keep it up there, too. The question is more how Summer and Fall will go for Wii U. It might get the best year, it might also become a reversal of this year (strong first half, weak middle and strong holiday season if Zelda launches then), but that's just speculation right now.

You're dreaming if you think the Wii U will sell better next year.

Splatoon effect won't last forever. It will probably start to fade out after Christmas. The rest of the games you posted won't move hardware (maybe Pokken because the bundle).

This is what I think

There won't be a splatoon next year.  That thing literally doubled the Wii U sales for many weeks yoy.

Not the whole year, but it will sell better until the release of Splatoon at the very least. This year really had such an awful start, it's actually tough not to beat those sales. After that however, 2015 will most probably catch up again on 2016. The thing is, apart from Zelda, we don't know about any game releasing after april yet, so it's kinda difficult to make accurate guesses about that timeframe. 2013 will probably stay as the bestselling year of Wii U in Japan, but depending on what gets announced, I wouldn't completly rule out 2016 just yet.

Updated, 2013 is extending its lead.

2014 is done 2 weeks. The next 2 updates will beat 2014 LT If it somehow gets the same amount it got in 2013 next week then it will only take 1 week. Either way. The rest of 2014 will be filled in soon.

2015 is tagging along pretty well considering no big game for the holiday season. But unless SMTxFE does superbly well (which it doesn't look like right now), there's no chnce 2013 can be beaten anymore.

Well, doesn't look like 2013 can be beaten anymore by 2015 even if Ginei Ibunroku #FE would have a huge start. Yet it will do much better than last yearI I predict around 820k for 2015

Thanks for the update. Any chance you can fill in 2013 and 2014 now so we can see what it needs to do?
