Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony doesn't make sense

Which would you prefer?

Uncharted: Collection 115 76.16%

God Of war: Trilogy 36 23.84%

Total:151

All Uncharted games were from PS3. They are not difficult to port and doesn't need much revision from Sony.
God of War 1 and God of War 2 were from PS2. It is too expensive to bring them on PS4, Sony would have to completely revise both games.

It makes perfect sense. Remastering PS3 games is easy, but PS2 games would require some serious effort.

If Square Enix can do PS2's FFX/FFX-2 onto PS3 and PS4 then it shouldn't be a problem for GoW's PS2 games either to be put on PS4.

FFX/FFX-2 needed a lot time.
Sony doesn't have this time, they want to bring God of War 3 to the PS4 before God of War 4 will release.

It's ridiculous how Sony treat God of War and SMS like a second-rate shit.

The God of War series is way bigger than Uncharted, significantly more popular and beloved, just check the size of fan pages on Facebook or Google Trends. Uncharted is a series that owes it's popularity to bundling, holiday releases and huge marketing campaigns.

God of War released towards the end of the PS2s life and it had no support from Sony, the games quality is how it made a name for itself and through word of mouth alone it has become a huge series.

If Sony wasn't ran by a bunch of fucking morons they would've remastered the God of War trilogy ala MCC and made GoW 1 & 2 look more like GoW3 and then when they inevitably announce GoW4 at E3 (they better) they could've announced a demo of GoW4 exclusive to that package.

Bollocks to Sony.

Yep exactly, and funny thing is that they themselves lose out on what could be mega blockbuster franchise to combat Halo if they planned it right, and that would make them less dependent on third-party games.

I really want to rant in front of Kaz so that he atleast understands what some fans think of Sony's managment issues in regards to WWS. They pretty much only give importance to Naughty Dog's games.

And exactly this kind of shit happens when people equate remasters with remakes, acting as if they are the same.

Your right, GoW doesnt deserve any remaster on PS4. Its basically the series that gave remasters a bad name back on PS3 and it looks like its going to happen all over again.

No one is asking for a remake of God Of War 1 & 2. I only want them as part of the pack in 1080p60fps.

I said it deserves remasters, but as a complete f**king collection of God Of War trilogy and not a single f**cking game, like they did with Uncharted.

And please, God Of War is what started this trend of HD remasters, give credit where its due.

Damn it, you beat me to the punch

But this is exactly right. Anybody who is trying to say that it is because Uncharted sold more and appeals woo a wider audience is giving Sony way too much credit. Also, wouldn't that fly in the face of the excuse that remastered are made because certain people didn't get to play it? Either way, let's just be honest and see it for what it is. It's way easier to remaster PS3 games.

But did Square really take that much time from doing FFX/FFX-2 on PS3 to PS4? About a year or two?

If GoW4 is announced this E3 that could still give Sony a 2 year timeline before release in which should be enough time to remaster all 6 games.  If the new GoW that's in development is a new protagonist and completely different then time shouldnt restrict Sony from releasing all the previous GoW games in one collection.

Sidenote: I'm really curious to see how GoW4 plans to continue from what happened at the end of GoW3.  Personally I felt like GoW3 had closure and doesn't need more Kratos. But we'll see =)

That's a blatant lie. Uncharted has recently sold as much as what God Of War sold in 2012 without the release of the newest game in the series.
