Forums - Movies & TV - Sony might lose their biggest movie exclusive...

What a fiasco. Though I can't remember anything memorable about any of the games at all made in the last 10 years...perhaps another studio would be able to handle it better.

Did you even bother to read the OP?

Christ, it's about the movies. Since when did Sony have exclusive bond games?

SMH.

Edit - Haven't seen you on Skype lately?

If you go and search for the word "click-bait" in a dictionary, this thread title will be given as an example :P.

OP: Well as mentioned "Skyfall" was the highest grossing film in the Bond series Sso dropping Sony wouldn't make much sense, a new studio can bring something new and interesting to the bond series though.

So the rights are MGM's and they have a deal with Sony? But Sony own 20% of MGM, so one would assume they would have a big advantage when trying to re-negotiate right?

..remember that time that Sony owned 8 percentage of Square Enix and then Final Fantasy 13 happend....

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Skyfall was bigger than any Spider Man film, Spider Man isn't their biggest (half ) franchise. Btw Marvel has some of those Sony rights now.

Preston Scott

I just want a new Bond game that isn't horrible.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

But 20>8 right?

That's right. You'd imagine they would have some leeway but far from enough for it to be a certainty if a rival puts in a good enough offer...I think.

Sony would be foolish to lose it though. Doubt they would.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Sony Pictures are so bad. They keep making these US-centric movies like The Wedding Ringer, Paul Blart 2 and Pixels soon. Nobody else in the world cares about Kevin Hart or Adam Sandler.

it's not really losing if it's simply the end of a contract.

Well said: /clap

Never was exclusive. Fox owns home video rights so O wouldn't be surprised to see them gain distribution rights as well. As long as Disney has no part of it, I'm happy.
