Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Splatoon is THE reason to get a Wii U!

Splatoon is way to expensive for what it is, Nintendo should of sold the game at $50.

If Splatoon was a drug I would be selling everything I have to keep it in my system. I'd probably have to have a intervention and then I'd tell everyone there to shove off. I'd end up on a street corner selling other drugs to pay for my Splatoon addiction. Eventually I'd end up in prison for selling drugs to pay for my Splatoon addiction where I'd eventually end up being shanked to death in a bad Splatoon deal.

When I think of it this way, $60 isn't so bad.

Like titanfall, a Nice game for one week, then bored

Don't have Titanfall and haven't really been following it, but I'd bet enough people still actively play it. What I can say with 100% certainty though is that Mario Kart 8's online is still played heavily and that game has far less depth and freshness than Splatoon.

THE reason? No way. It definitely adds to the lineup of the console and helps to differentiate it from other systems with something new and exciting....However I personally believe that one single game or feature is not sufficient to "get" a console.

So yeah. It's helping to beef up the library and could push people over the edge, but there's a lot more for the system to offer yet.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

The general public doesn't seem to think so

Of all the games that were due to come out on Wii U, the kids were most interested in Splatoon. Yes, more excited for Splatoon than they were even MK8 or Smash Bros - (although they love both games)

They've played nothing else since it came out, even to the point where they haven't properly explored the second DLC pack of MK8 yet.

And the PS4 is forgotten at the moment.

Incidentally, and a bit off-topic, the game-pad alert light started flashing last night. I thought it was another Splatoon related message. Turns out I was wrong - Wii U finally has BBC iPlayer!

I never get what goes on in the US with game's pricing, but given your average income and how every other game seems to be cheaper there, i dont see the reason for complaint.

Splatoon is 40 euros in europe. The content is comparable to a CoD game, so i really dont get where you get the lower value of the game. Colors = must be cheaper?

You =/= general public

That´s too much ego.

And I remember you calling Splatoon a bomba no time ago

And something like "So many hopes and high expectations will be crushed by Splatoon's performance."

It didn´t happen.

The mechanics seemed too simplistic from what I have seen so far, so I can't imagine many shooter enthusiasts migrating to the wiiu just because of this game. It's a decent shooter for starters on the genre, but I wouldn't stick with it for long after playing many 3rd person online shooters myself. And besides the game itself doesn't have that much content and there are many restriction in online interactivity with other players.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

It´s a BRILLIANT shooter for everybody. "Simplistic" Yeah because CoD is super complex.

In my opinion, Splatoon rivals COD in how addicting it can be. It will only be a matter of time before a competitive community pops-up
