Forums - Sports Discussion - [Football / Soccer] Neymar tried a rainbow flick… Athletic Bilbao players were not happy

i was shocked when i knew it was considered "insulting". how can that be considered insulting? its good football, thats what it is. when i watch football i like seeing tricks like that, cool stunts and quality players doing things that are really hard to do.

everybody gets offended from everything these days, what a joke was it to not give the bilbao players a red card for the faul then attacking neymar. and instead giving neymar a yellow for playing good football and trying to pass a player with style.

the reality of the matter is that there is one big reason why bilbao players were upset.... they were outclassed.

I'm not the biggest Neymar fan around here, but even I can safely say that Bilbao's reaction was uncalled for.

meh, if this happened 20-30 years ago they would have broken his leg.

This referee was making up his own rules as he went, and its not how it should be done. If Bilbao was beeing owned, well... its their own job to stop the humiliation. I almost think that the referee was skewed towards Bilbao.

The president of the RFEF is from Bilbao.

I think it was more offensive the terrible defensive display of some of players from the Atletic Bilbao team.

You sucks guys, and you should face it.

What the fuck is wrong with the Bilbao players?

Don't want to get humiliated? Well play better in the first place then, idiots.

This. Neymar did nothing wrong!

Someone posted on Twitter about how so many people nowadays complain that current Brazilian players don't have the flair or skills the old players did. It's because it's regarded as disrespect by so many people.

As much as I dislike the guy, but he did nothing wrong. That's not an illegal move as far as I know.
Then he was pushed by the opponent, so he should have gotten a free kick.
Weird Spaniards...

Trying to outdo Neymar? That's a good way to get surrounded by angry Bilbao fans in no time. Españolista!

The worst is this: http://www.sambafoot.com/en/news/72665_barcelona_coach_luis_enrique_and_gerard_pique_reprimand_neymar_for_showboating.html

Both Luis Enrique and Gerard Piqué had firm words for Neymar following the Brazilian’s showboating towards the end of the Copa del Rey final.

The defender was quoted in SPORT: "Perhaps Neymar did not have to give such a spectacle. We should not give it too much importance, it is a bit of everything."

Luis Enrique had some harsher words for Neymar. He said: "If I were an Athletic player I would have reacted the same, or perhaps worse. In Spain it is badly looked upon, in Brazil there is another context, and it is more normal. But it’s easy to understand why they reacted as they did given that they were losing."
