Forums - Gaming Discussion - Never buy weapons in the Witcher 3

Have any of you noticed that there are some merchants that buys your stuff at a higher price than others? Some merchant offered me for a pair of Relic Boots like 1100 but he didnt have the money to buy it so i went to another and he only offered me like 250 WTF?!

Currently im at level 13 with 11k Crowns LOL, i feel like Bill Gates rich around here!

Im currently on the "Ladies of the lake" quest i believe its called and ive cleaned like 90% of the Velen/Novigrad Map, trying to finish all the side activities from all the boards across the map...there are 3 left

Yeah, I noticed that different when I traveled from Velen to Novigrad. Those merchants who pay a lot more are far more rare and tend to have the best wares though.

yea some pay better, but as a general rule just sell armor to armosmiths, weapons to blacksmiths, ect.

That's what I do.  Don't bother finding the best person to sell to, but doing what I do at least gives you decent returns.  Selling swords to a non blacksmith gives you like 1/4 what a blacksmith does.  Only tiem do that is overburdened.

Thanks for the advice! I know what not to do now when I get the game.

NP. Heres more tips:

1. Invest in oils to buff your sword for different races of monsters.

2. Always have potions ready for specific fights (these can always be swapped during fights unlike oils which need to be prepped before battle).

3. Practice your dodging and parry game. This will be essential in your ongoing quests.

4. Learn ahead of time what your spells do to each monster.

5. Early on invest in your axii sign so you can control peoples minds in conversation for extra exp

6. Always use your hangmans venom oil when in city missions. You'll only be killing humans there.

The weapons to buy are only useful for those who rush the game, they dont discover ?, dont make a lot of side quest and dont look into every thing for interesting loot, so the game punish these one with overpriced weapons

I have a bigger problem : I'm too heavy, i dont know what to do, i sold every thing i could but i'm still at 130/160, too bad there is no 150kg bag

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Damn I realised I've had the XP bug and didn't notice. Done 5 side quests and 2 treasure hunt quests last night only to realise my XP didn't raise at all. It's too late to go back as I've overwrite the save! I wonder if the new patch will give back and lost XP.

That sucks because the game is made to prevent you from getting xp from an other way than quests, so you could miss the trophy and have to wait for DLC to reach lvl 35

Sorry if its a bit off topic/somewhat on topic ;p

Does this rule apply to Witcher 1 and 2 as well?

Witcher 2, definitely. I don't know about part one though.

Sell some weapons to the highest bidder and breakdown some unneccesary junk into parts because you might need it later for crafting.  The bulk of your weight will be in the first slot of inventory where you keep your weapons, so just beware of that. You don't really need to hold that many weapons.
