Oh good. I was worried it was going to cost $7,777,777.77.

Because Microsoft's games are behind Sony's in the graphcis department in my opinion. And not only because of weaker hardware. I don't find it that important but many do. |
Microsoft, specifically at 343i has same very good engine developers, remember what they achieved on the Xbox 360.
Halo 5 fell short, but that could be because of budget and/or the fact the game was rushed and clearly not up to the same level of quality as prior Halo titles on launch.
Ryuu96 said: First of all, when Project Scorpio launches, it will come with Shader Model 6 (SM6) and shader compiler improvements, not only for Scorpio, but for existing Xbox One models as well. SM6 is an API for creating shading, and the new version should bump up efficiency across the board, saving developers time and system resources. |
Shader Model 6 is only hardware supported in Graphics Core Next 1.2/Gen 2 and newer. (Whichever you wish to call it.)
Which means the Xbox One and probably the Xbox One S will be limited to Shader Model 5 at a hardware level.
This is either marketing fluff or Microsoft has done a software work-around.

To be fair, it's not overtly difficult to make games look and run better compared to the original Xbox One anyway. :P

Yeah. Got the same issue. But mine isn't an elite controller.
Waiting on Scorpio so I can flog it all off.
