Well. Looks like Halo Wars is dead on the Xbox One. At-least in Australia it feels like.
Tried playing the Definitive Edition, only a few lobbies open... But I wasn't going to wait around forever for them to fill up.
And couldn't find a Blitz match in Halo Wars 2.

Anyone know what the online population is like on PC?

Sega bought on every of the crytek studios. The Black Sea one. They turned it into a creative assembly team. Good for them. It's obvious crytek is done. I'd love for Microsoft to acquire there last active studio. Although the Black Sea one was closed last year and it somehow got sold still . Cryteks South Korea and China studios just got closed as well so maybe one of those? Other than that obsidian has said they want to be acquired right? Ms needs more studios bad.

Feels like Crytek just over-extended themselves. They should have stayed PC exclusive and a moderate studio size where they seemed to have more success.

Obisidian should merge up with Paradox Interactive, they have had some success with Pillars of Eternity, so I would like to see that continue.

I would rather Microsoft build up new Studio's, not purchase dead/dying ones... Bethesda hired a few key members of the Crytek engine development staff and put them to work on id tech after Carmack left... And we saw the results of that with Doom.

That way, Microsoft gets the talent it wants and needs, with a fresh studio, with no old strings/baggage attached.

Microsoft needs some fresh I.P. - I wouldn't mind a ressurection of some old franchises either, there is obviously demand for Age of Empires with the success Age of Empires 2 HD has had, Freelancer 2 could go head to head with Star Citizen, they could bring back the venerable Black and White... And they could push Mechwarrior out again, plus we can't forget Perfect Dark, Kameo and Viva Pinata either.

Hopefully E3 is a knockout and Microsoft shows off some fresh meat that also helps push Scorpio.

I hate to say it, but at this rate for Microsoft to become even half the developer of like their competiton, they will have to look at their gaming division like exclusives are their bread and butter for survival. Creativity must be more important than what one can buy. Its like the rich kid who pays someone to do their homework instead of studying for themselves.  I hope E3 finds some developers to make them some games at E3. Hopeffully they revitalize Crackdown as well because making a breakable engine for evertyhing means nothing if the game isnt good.

The problem is, there was a shift in the vision of the department.

The previous execs thought that game as a service would be the future. Episodic/MMO games were the hottest things in 2012/14 and single player games were being touted as a dying breed.

I believe they're still trying to find a direction and identity like they had in X360 days.

@Permalite there was a huge 9GB update for HW2 on xbox today, it think that has something to do with some people experiencing matchmaking issues. I played 3v3 Blitz for an hour or so and matchmaking was mostly quick, like 10 seconds but couple of times it took a minute or two. Which is slower than usual. Players are still there I'm sure.

Ah cool about Pit People, love The Behemoths work. Gonna pick up Recore aswell next week i think. Talking about Recore, are all technical issues patched up?

Doubt it. A friend of mine played through it about 2 weeks ago and he said it was quite buggy in some areas and the loading times are still horrible.
He still liked it though.

Did that new fast movement corebot arrive yet? I was waiting for that before I played so I could zoom around :P

I played it recently and the loading times are pretty big in some areas but i didn't encounter any major bugs.

As far as I know it still hasn't released.

I didn't think so as I haven't heard anything about it but they said early 2017 for it and I see early 2017 as been no later than Jan/Feb or they would of used Q1 or Q2 instead of early 2017, Hopefully it is arriving soon though.

So Minecraft fucked me today.

I wanted to get a few of the new achievements and loaded an older tutorial world, where I already built a Nether Portal and an End Portal. I loaded it in Survival mode on peaceful difficulty since I just wanted to check my chests if I already got some of the stuff I need for reanimating the Ender Dragon. Saved the game, backed out and loaded it again, this time on easy. Suddenly a message appears that I allegedly saved the game in creative mode and that I cannot earn any achievements in that map from now on.
I have never ever used the creative mode. Not in the 360 version and not here either.

Now I'm basically fucked and don't feel like spending hours to create both portals again. Especially since the old tutorial world is gone.
Basically I can only hope to find someone who is willing to invite me to their world and let me do the stuff there.

Voodoo Vince gets released on steam, but not halo wars 2, fh3, or gears 4. They should be putting every game on there.
