What Iceland said is the best, new digital copy should be priced at $50 compared to the $60 we pay for the retail.

Should be lower than that because there is no shipping, packing, cases and discs. The cost should be $35-40. No way it should be $60+ at all. At all

I'm going to pre-order QB and already have the MCC white console. Don't care about what people are saying about it it's Remedy. They always try to downplay anything associated with MS. Tired of it already.

I think it should be $50 or around 87 percent of the new version's price. The difference is that you can only sell it once and that the vast majority of that money goes to MS and the publisher since your reward will be MS points that MS can print without suffering from inflation. The whole point is that this acts as an extra source of revenue for publishers since they can sell games at a lower price without suffering any loses when they otherwise wouldn't sell...

Well I mean I want QB but after reading DFs hands on I'm no longer able to make up my own mind. It looks stunning but...... After reading that, now think it looks like shit.

I'd wait until it's out... Remedy rarely does this sort of stuff. I expect them to be on to something...

Whaat? 😃 I'm totally lost. Are you implying they would resell these sold back digital games as used games? And why would devs and publishers get a cut? They got their money when you bought the game, and why MS would need a cut, they're the ones buying back your game.

What would you choose if you see a new digital copy for $60 and a used one for $40? There is zero difference between the two, yet one is $20 cheaper than the other. That will eat a LOT of sales for the publisher.

If the Publishers get 10-20% cut that might convince them to allow it. Microsoft should get a cut because you're selling the game using their store, like when you sell an item through Amazon or EBay.

And even with this cut I wouldn't agree if I was a publisher.

What makes you think they would be selling used digital games? Is there even such thing? I understand you would be selling your rights to use the digital product and then it's gone. You get paid with credits to use for another purchase. Publishers don't lose a penny. You are not selling your game to another gamer, Xbox live store is buying it back.

Some AA's/AAA's are $50 on Steam at release, less than there used to be but some still are, at the very least there's no reason why those shouldn't be $50 on XBL and PSN as well.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, MS really needs to work on improving the Xbox Store and now Windows 10 store as well (the two will be merged later this year). Faster and bigger price cuts over time (no game should still be full price a year after release, they aren't at retail and they aren't on Steam, so they shouldn't be on XBL either, MS needs to work to match physical prices over time), more sales with bigger discounts (quarterly sales where most games are on sale, monthly sales where a good number of games are on sale, plus the standard weekly deals with gold stuff).

Digital reselling would be nice, but 10% is too low, not when you can usually get at least 20% reselling a physical game (often more depending on how quickly you finish the game). And they need to copy Steam's refund policy, if you buy a game and you don't like it, you should have 14 days or 2 hours of playtime (whichever comes first) to get a refund. A digital rental service would be amazing as well, something like 70% of a game's selling price to rent it for 2 weeks, 50% of a game's selling price to rent it for a week, 30% to rent it for 3 days, and 15% to rent it for 24 hours. If they worked out a deal where most of that money went to the devs, the devs would actually prefer digital rentals to phyiscal rentals because they'd get more money from digital rentals than they do from physical rentals.

They could easy make it 50 but then they will try to find an other way to get money from people. More dlc/Increase of season pass price and worst of all issues with the stores. 10% is indeed low but now people get nothing....

Getting QB day one, too. Preordering digital so I get a PC copy too ;)

Regarding the DF thread, what else was going to happen here. A week ago the game looked amazing. Now an arbitrary number is attached and omg its so terrible.

I loved Oblvion and I agree that their later games improved but Fallout new vegas was for me the best as a RPG, I like RPG's where you can go everywhere you want but most places at the start would kick your ass. So you had a good reason to level up and going back to a place and make it trough it makes the game more engaging. And I just saw that their is a thread about 10 years Oblivion missed it =p.
