I'd like to try out that COD campaign then. I despise those games, but like I said about Crysis (damn, I realize I like those games a lot!), sometimes I really want to play such a Hollywood campaign! Too bad COD games are so expensive! Hmm... it's funny that you think the Inquisition world design is good and I think it's horrible. What did you think of Origins and DA2? In general, as games. I love both, and I mean really love. |
Well they certainly spawn a lot less frequently. Maybe you have to close the rifts in these areas? I'm not sure as I do pretty much everything simultaneously when I enter a new sub-area and then move on to the next. I do remember in the big forest world (Emerald Graves) I could barely find enemies when I tried to show the game to a friend after I basically finished the game. Only when I traveled to the north-east part of the map I could find some giants to fight. (and I admit, you don't want these to respawn, as they take a long time to kill).
I guess you're not at a very high level when you have trouble with most of the random spawning enemies? I recommend changing the worlds frequently as each world has harder and easier areas. Usually the standard enemies aren't really hard except for maybe the giants or bears.
Personally I liked Origins, but I wasn't a fan of the combat. Story and characters were great and it had cities. World-wise though it was way too linear for my taste and the graphics were quite meh. Even though I played it waaay after launch, it still had quite a few game breaking bugs. A quest item wouldn't appear in a chest so I had to reload a save I made about 30 - 40 minutes earlier. Also had to fight the end boss 3 times, because the game freaked out on me twice and didn't allow me to attack the dragon when it only had about 10% energy remaining. Overally I would give it somewhere between 7.5 and 8.0.
Dragon Age II had much better gameplay but was of course short on story and everything else. If it was as fleshed out as Orgins, I would rate it higher, but as it is it's about an 7.5 as well.
About CoD I can't really put them in one definitive list. I played and finished all of them (except BlOps3), but some of them obviously years ago.
As of recent I can say that AW is really good.
- No infinite enemy respawns unlike the previous CoDs
- some really good new tactical options with your exo suit and different grenade types
- Impressive graphics
- Kevin Spacey
Ghosts was pretty good as well
Black Ops 2 was terrible in my opinion. (from my wall post when I played the game):
Every single non FPS gameplay element in Black Ops 2 sucks horribly.
- Riding on a horse back (worst CoD level I've played in my life) trying to give you a semi open level.
Infinite spawning enemies, several helicopters to take out and next to no cover.
- Spider drone. Navigating through a hallway where touching the ground means auto kill. Where you can walk on walls and ceilings with no indication at all where up and down really is. That wouldn't be so bad if you weren't forced to jump over a gap. Obviously gravity always wins that battle.
- Flying a jet. Far too fast, which wouldn't be so bad if the map wasn't so small. Needed several tries because I kept flying out of the boundaries since I couldn't see where I was supposed to fly.
- Controlling troops in Strike Force doesn't work well at all. You NEED to play as one of the soldiers, because if you command them to a certain point they need ages to get there and If you command them to one of the important points where they should put up emitters, they don't. You have to do ALL the work.
[I shortened it a bit to only include the really bad gaming sequences and not the other minor annoyances I had)
MW3... honestly don't remember too much, except the awesome final level.
BlOps - excellent
MW2 - great but really really short
World at War - liked the Pacific battle setting of half of the mission, good game all around
MW - exceptional for its time
CoD 3 - no, just no
CoD 2 - classic
CoD - classic, but doesn't hold up quite as well by today's standards
