But that's the thing, in this instance....you get your special case anyway ^^
Just no useless disc

Also, do the discs take up the same amount of space as digital or is it less?

Completely identical

But isn't it like a case to hold a disc? lol They should at least change the design then....

Sure, it's a bit nonsensical in that regard but ask yourself what people do with those special edition cases. They put them up for display somewhere with the rest of their collection, and I've they do so, usually they'd rather just leave it undisturbed rather than grabbing a disc out of it everytime they wanna play the game. It's a show piece much more than a practical one. I have my empty Witcher collector case sitting up in my display right now without a disc in it, because it came without the disc in it (instead it was packaged in a regular edition case of the box which I promptly resold).

People like having their games complete in their collection though, I'm sure there's people like you out there but most people that want a special ediition case want to have the actual disc in it. I mean there's so many things that people collect to not actually use but they still want to know it's complete. In any case (pun intended) I think MS offering the option to have the disc is great, they should've had a physical and digital option from the start.

But again, those things people collect and don't use are for display purposes. Things to show off to others, or for you to admire in solace, whatever. Nobody looks at their collector game cases thinking "aww yaa there's a disc in there baby." The disc is completely irrelevant. You wanna own the collector items to look at/display. You wanna own the game to play. The disc just doesn't matter. At least I don't understand how it does.

I understand the initial psychological reaction of "hey wait a second there's suddenly less physical content in what I'm buying," but the truth is that that one physical item missing is completely irrelevant to your collection. Unless you have some compulsive disorder about it lol

As long as your Xbox is in Instant-On mode you can download from anywhere

Well I mean can I pre load it even if I'm not getting the digital version?

Man, that HoloLens presentation and all the fake "uhhh" and "ahhh" audience from record today. How does MS think this sounds good or even believable to people? It's just so bad everytime they play it^^

If you download the game, you won't need to pop in a disc to play it, so I'm not sure what you mean. You're not going to get a free digital code when/if you preorder a physical copy at your local store, that would be them giving you the game twice. No retailer is that nice lol. You can preorder the game from the Xbox Live store, let it preload, and then play it as soon as you get out of school. The only physical package that ships with a digital code is the collector's edition if I'm not mistaken (and those are probably sold out), and even if you bought that your only options would be either keeping the digital code or trading it in for the disc.

...I don't understand. That's not possible.
