It's so laughable that you have to wait probably one more week to play Halo 5 as someone who buys the COLLECTORS EDITION (those who care most about Halo) just because MS doesn't want to include a physical disc. This is so fucked up I have no words for it^^

I mean, isn't it logical that especially people who buy a collectors edition like to collect Halo stuff and especially these poeple are obviously also interested in getting a disc to collect and not only a code and an empty case? Sure, there will be some who only want a code but then they should give these people another opportunity to get a code instead of a disc and not telling those who want a disc that they can only play the game days later.

The collectors Edition comes out on the 20th. They send your physical game in 3-5 business days. The game releases on the 27th. It sounds to me like you get it at the same time other people do.

Ohh, didn't know that ups^^

I personally would have preferred having a digital copy instead of physical when I bought my Witcher 3 collector's edition. That's just me though.

I mean what is the point of having the disc? Nobody puts a disc out on display. It's either in the case or in your console. Worst case scenario you might end up scratching it or something, best case scenario it's just spinning around in the disc drive making extra noise. You don't need discs anymore. Frankly I don't know why you'd want them. Cool boxes, collector's items, etc? Yes please. Disc? No thanks. Only reason some people are upset by this his because they are just so used to having a disc that not having one feels like something is missing when you take it away all of a sudden. That feeling doesn't last once you actually start playing though.

Microsoft's goal with this option is obvious. Make people who were leaning towards trade in go "fuck it, I'll keep the digital version" and then realize later that this was never an issue, maybe keep buying digital moving forward (which is what MS has been wanting to push for since the start of this gen).

I bought Witcher 3 twice just to have a digital copy with my collector's edition. Give me that over a disc any day.

Or they can just offer both options from the start Seems easier and an ideal solution.

I like physical better. I like having the cases for some reason XD

But that's the thing, in this instance....you get your special case anyway ^^
Just no useless disc

But isn't it like a case to hold a disc? lol They should at least change the design then....

Downloaded the new xbox experience last night. It certainly is faster.

Sure, it's a bit nonsensical in that regard but ask yourself what people do with those special edition cases. They put them up for display somewhere with the rest of their collection, and I've they do so, usually they'd rather just leave it undisturbed rather than grabbing a disc out of it everytime they wanna play the game. It's a show piece much more than a practical one. I have my empty Witcher collector case sitting up in my display right now without a disc in it, because it came without the disc in it (instead it was packaged in a regular edition case of the box which I promptly resold).

I think it's mostly psychological. People will always prefer something tangible like a disc instead of a digital code.

Also, do the discs take up the same amount of space as digital or is it less?
