Is the expectation be that Lockhart comes in at 299 which is the sweet spot for a console to sell and Anaconda coming in at 499.

idk $300 sounds pretty cheap for a brand new console. $400 is definitely too much but I think it's going to be $350. Hope I'm wrong though.
I think we were quite wrong about MS pricing before (One S All Digital comes to my mind)...

I'm really excited to play Jurassic World: Evolution in a few days. I really enjoyed JP:Operation Genesis on the og Xbox, and just haven't gotten around to playing the new one. First time in awhile I'm excited for GwG.

If PS5 is 10 tflop as rumored, and Sony aims for $400 since they won't want to price match MS at $500 if they have the weaker console, I feel like $350 would be too much for Lockhart. Who would buy a 4 tflop console with no disc drive for $350 when you could buy a 10 tflop console with a disc drive for just $50 more? Only way $350 for Lockhart happens imo is if PS5 is $450 (possible) or $500 (unlikely with the rumored specs imo), or if MS decides to bump the GPU on Lockhart up to maybe 6 or 7 tflop based on that the feedback from developers that 4 tflop isn't enough that we've been hearing about.

Also, we shouldn't forget that the leakers are all saying that Lockhart is designed as a replacement for XB1 S All-Digital, which is selling for $150 right now, while Anaconda is a replacement for XB1 X ($350 right right now). Makes sense for the successors to cost about $150 more than what they're replacing imo.

I agree with this line of thinking.  I do not believe we will get any pricing information until late next year but I highly doubt that Lockhart at 4TF will come in at 350 bones if the PS5 is at 10Tf coming in hot at 400.  I am sure MS and Sony will not show their hands to early as pricing will make a huge difference when these consoles release.

I believe MS has more wiggle room on Lockhart if they want to be aggressive either on price or performance depending on how they want to compete.  It should be interesting if they either bump up the specs or keep the specs and be aggressive on price.

I know as a parent, I can easily seem myself going 300 bones for Lockhart for my son for next gen as its an easy buy compared to 500 bones for myself to get Anaconda.

SoT has had some pretty major updates this last 6 months. I really need to get back into the game.

No stealth, open world or player choices please. Trying to fix what isn't broken by just throwing half-baked ideas mechanics from other games into the mix is awful. Don't get the hype for Gears 5 story either thb.. Stuff about origins of Locust was something we already knew but they just had to tie it to Kait. Meh.

But it literally does legwork in explaining stuff the OG trilogy ignored.  Saying they "just tie it to Kait" too easily disregards how solid the structure/pacing are integrated into the world around you.  There's a moderate wealth of details Kait's uncovered here that echo back on Sera's two previous worldwide conflicts: UIR v. COG and COG v. Locust.

EDIT:  This is where I make the "it's no Great Shakes" qualifier, of course. :P

Well I'm not sure how much of the stuff Gears 5 explained was from the novels and how much was explained in previous games. But there was still some mystery behind it. Unanswered questions make a more exciting story, just ask David Lynch :D

This is just my opinion of course, but they went too far explaining everything, and they did it to tie it to Kait.

Yeah the UIR v. COG stuff was nice, completely forgot about it. It was great to add Paduk too. But even this stuff was familiar from Aspho Fields novel.

edit. And there was no solid structure or pacing in how JD's development was handled either. Any tension they briefly built was just wiped away.

Yes you should!

Must say, this latest update doesn't add much new besides too much grinding. But I love lore they're building up with this Mystery Woman.

DayZ, Fallout 76 and Soul Calibur VI are free to play this weekend.

Definitely going to check out SC VI.
Last time a fighting game had a trial weekend (Tekken 7), I achieved the full 1000G in that time. Won't happen here but maybe enough so I don't need to buy it any time soon.

Do you actually play these games?

Only have 83 physical X1 games (even sold a couple), so basically 1/10th of your collection.
Got another 488 owned digital games though (90% indies I'd guess).
